I have a headache now but what do you think of the design?
I need to move the darts and widen the arm pit. I think I also need to create a dart down the middle of the opening to the hem due to the dip in my back to stop the gaping. But what do you all think of the design?
@4meAndyou thank you... No this is the mock up. I'm checking to see that i have made everything right. Ive never made my own pattern without a guide. So please be patient with me. Without formal training I need to try and figure things out.
@Mellowgirl I used to make my own patterns for costumes for my son, out of newspaper. I made his costumes for King Richard's Faire...and later when he wanted a cape for a Halloween night march in Salem. The cape was fun. Instead of gathering the neck I used sunburst shaped darts, the longest one in the middle of his back.
It looks pretty good, loose and comfortable with elegant lines. The window in the back seems to preclude wearing a bra, though, which may or may not be an issue.
