Why are most guys so harsh about tall women?

They’re so mean to us. It isn’t our fault that we’re tall. One guy in high school flat out told me in my face that he can’t stand the sight of tall women at all because it’s bad enough being as tall as them and not being able to look down their chest. Also an embarrassment to be around them. He said short girls are cuter, feminine and curvy. Then he also told me tall women are too picky. Most guys are brutally honest about women’s appearances.
I’m 5’11” 3/4, large building and 257lbs (I’ve gained 20 pounds due to depression).
