How do you wake up in the morning?

Most mornings I wake up with a song in my head and a smile on my face.

I woke up 1 and a half hours ago and I can't remember the song now but at one point I couldn't remember if I was singing aloud or in my head... Hahaha

Up like a lark, cleaning and washing up before sitting down for a cuppa.
Waking up with a song in your head and a smile on your face sounds like a wonderful way to start the day though. ❤🙏

@Mindfulness haha that's funny...
These days I try to wash up before bed. I think that's why I'm so happy...
Stress free life!

To avoid the shock of the alarm tune I usually awaken an hour prior. It's like my sleeping brain knows it is coming so it gets me up in anticipation so I can turn it off before it start making that horrible noise. By the time I get the alarm deactivated I become aware of the peaceful solitude of twilight and silence, and decide that it can be even better enjoyed while sipping a cup of coffee. So it's just me and the coffee for the next hour or two. Such intense contentment that if I still feel sleepy I can go back to bed later, but for the moment it's just me and the coffee.

This morning because it is Saturday and I could sleep past 7 I woke up hearing Kiwi, my parakeet, yelling over and over “You see, right?” You see?” She was wanting me to get up and take them out to the sun room so they could enjoy the cool air and listen to the wild birds this morning. So I got up and put them out in the sun room. Then they started saying “Thank you.”

I spend the first few minutes sitting at the side of my bed because at my age, I'm prone to early am dizziness and a little cognitive impairment that goes away fairly quickly.

This morning I woke up with my friend holding my hand. She stayed over last night and we were chatting in bed until we went to sleep 🙂

I wake up groggy. I can't focus, and it takes me about three hours to feel "awake".
