How you ever loss a bet

I don't think I ever made a bet, except for one trip to a casino on a date. He fed three twenties in a row into a slot machine and then I suggested it would be more fun to burn them in the parking lot. Another thing I don't get.

@Mamapolo2016 I have no love of gambling, either. My wife and I made one trip to a casino, just to say we did it. The highlight was the restaurant!

🤔 Hmmm...(thinks about all those lots nickels floating around some nickel slot machine in Vegas)🤣 Nothing of any consequence.

I have bet a little bit in a casino and lost.

I don't think I have ever made a "real" bet with another person in which one of us would have to pay or suffer some consequence if we lost. I have had conversations in which the two of us had contrasting predictions about something, and eventually one of us would have to say, "well, I was wrong about that", but that's as far as it goes.
The last time I made a bet was at the Horse races many years ago.
I put down $35 on a few horses and won $60
Had lunch there and walked out with $35. I won.

Other than that I don't get it.
Only been to a casino one time and to say it was overwhelming is an understatement.
I counted at least $50,000 lost in about 5 mins at a rulette table, one of many tables.
