The Atheists should try forgiveness and see how itakes them feel

Those that believe in Christian mercy, love and eternal life may have a monopoly on heaven and salvation but we don't necessarily have a monopoly on the concept of forgiving those that have trespassed against us.

Atheists, next time someone wrongs you, instead of responding with spite and malice and becoming fixated on revenge, try instead to forgive the person who wronged you. Try and turn your mind to more pleasant things. Becoming obsessed with revenge will make you look older (because of stress hormones) and you will be emotionally unbalanced. But if you can forgive someone, you will find a measure of piece that might over time grow and change you as a person in a positive way that you may find surprising.

Where do you get the idea that forgiveness can only be exercised those who believe in god? A person who can't forgive is not an atheist, they're a sociopath.

I don't! I just want to make sure that no one else has that idea either

@BlueMetalChick And the irony is that religious people are not very good at forgiving. Lol

@Lifeismystery Are you seriously trying to tell me that mercy didn't exist before Christianity? Because you do know there's a few thousand years of human history before Christ came around.

Mercy even exists in other intelligent animals like chimpanzees, dolphins, octopus, and elephants.

@Lifeismystery We created the word love so we have to know what it means.

@Lifeismystery If people don't know what love is then how can we name it such.

@Lifeismystery Then language cannot solve such a dilema.

@Lifeismystery The opposite of love isn’t hate... it’s indifference
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@newjaninev2 No the opposite of love is definitely hate. That's like saying the opposite of white isn't black but rather gray.
@BlueMetalChick Smart and quick in whip you are....
@newjaninev2 You mean apathy? With enough apathy you can not love or hate
newjaninev2 · 56-60, F
@BlueMetalChick We first need to define love. Contrary to assumption, love isn’t how you feel about the other person... love is how you feel about yourself when you’re with the other person.

@newjaninev2 In colour spectrum, or shades what white and black are, they very much exist as opposites
IndigoSavage · 22-25, F
@newjaninev2 it is, white and black are the opposite
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@newjaninev2 Black is a combination of all pigments. White is a complete lack of pigment. Yes, the opposite of white IS black.

@newjaninev2 What is it you are confused about?
newjaninev2 · 56-60, F
@BlueMetalChick Two images of the same flower... human eyes and bee eyes

Which flower is white?

BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@newjaninev2 Since when were bee eyes the opposite of human eyes?

A cat sees colors much differently than we do. That doesn't make those colors opposite.
@newjaninev2 Thats nonsensical in response
