I use A1 on my steak. Ketchup is an abomination.

ncgremlin · 61-69, M
If people can put steak sauce on their steaks they can put ketchup on their steaks
FreeSpirit1 · F
Let people eat their steak how they like...just keep it away from mine👍
SubstantialKick · 36-40, M
Or putting mayonnaise on a burger.
bijouxbroussard · F
@SubstantialKick Indeed ! 🤢
acpguy · C
That is a mortal sin.
Should I use A-1or BBQ sauce?

@soar2newhighs Looks good.
@Azlotto Got six of them for $3.70 down from $14.50. On my income, wasn’t turning that down! The piece you see I seasoned w/dry rub, wrapped in aluminum and baked for 1 hour at 350F. Next time it’ll be probably 290f for about 35-40 minutes. Then I’ll broil it briefly and hit it w/ bbq sauce.

sometimes I like it--- I always like it on my chuck-roast
Pretzel · 61-69, M
it already shows a lowered IQ :)

Problem is many cooks like bland steaks. They really are only short order cooks and not chiefs.
A chief takes his time with steaks. Not just throw it on a grill.

@DeWayfarer seasoned well and let to come to room temperature and a ready hot pan or under the broiler and cook to the desired tenderness you want.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@soar2newhighs better is brined with seasons for 24 hours then follow what ever method. That's an average chiefs way.
Even the brine you should brine. That's a "real chiefs" way. Not a cooks because either way is too slow for a cook!
You get the full impact of the seasons all throughout every bite. Not just on top. Perhaps not even then.
Definitely not bland. Definitely needs nothing else.
Ever wonder why honey baked ham is so popular? It's the brining process. You don't just stick it on top.

Not a big steak person . I’ll take a hamburger please and I’ll either have tomato, lettuce and onions on it or what we call red relish I think it’s red pepper relish.
Ketchup maybe on fry’s

Anyone using any type of sauce on their steak must have a terrible cut and/or poorly cooked piece of beef. I use ketchup on my steak when it tastes terrible.
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
It should drop your I:Q quotient ten points and add five to your driving licence !

It will definitely bring out the worst in your steak.
Darkskiescoming · 51-55, M
A steak done right needs nothing. The meat juices are all you need.
LamontCranston · M
I see this becoming a civil rights issue.
I just had a few slices and put horseradish on them.
Azlotto · M
Indeed. A well prepared steak needs no sauce.
SW-User
So should putting ketchup on a hot dog 🤣
bijouxbroussard · F
Well, yes...🤨
