I think one of the nicest gifts I ever received from the ex was unexpected. There was no holiday, and no reason, and he brought me a bouquet of the most beautiful and unusual flowers! I really loved them. They were not an afterthought bunch of carnations he bought at a convenience store for 2.99, which is what he did when he purchased flowers for me.
Normally I don't like cut flowers, because I don't like to watch them die...but I loved this bouquet. That's how special it was.
Unfortunately, he told me that he had replaced a glass countertop for the son of his mother's friend, who was a florist, and the florist gave him the bouquet at no charge.
