I had a thought for people understanding a bit what it's like to be on the autistic spectrum.

Neurotypical people have no trouble reading a person's mood by their body language, facial expression and tone. People on the spectrum can have a great deal of difficulty with that.

Well for you neurotypical folks, imagine trying to read a dog's mood. You think you can do it but you actually don't know shit about it.
Dog wagging its tail? Must be happy. Wrong. There are so many nuances to a dog's body language which you will have to work hard to read properly.

Normal social interaction can be like that for a person on the spectrum.

@Pikachu Hmmm, not to someone attuned to adults who care about kid cartoons. I mean no offense.
@Human1000

lol my dude, if you can make a cogent argument right now about how enjoying children's shows is causally related to being on the autistic spectrum then i'll quit SW for a month.

Go ahead.

@Pikachu I’ve just noticed a correlation. I make no claims to be a scientist. Adults into children’s programming tend to have social issues.
@Human1000

lol mmm hmmm. Didn't think so.😏
@Human1000 I didn't either. When I was in jr hi school there was an autistic kid that got picked on all the time,usually by bullies that picked on me too (no I'm not autistic). I caught these guys picking on him by a stairwell & decided this sh*t was going to stop, right then. The 1st thing I did was punch one of them in the mouth (he wore braces & I f*cked up his braces (busting up my knuckles on my right hand) & kicked one of the others down a 16 step flight of stairs. After that they left him alone & me too. Was suspended for a week, but it was worth it.

@DropTopDig good for you! Well worth it.
@Human1000 I hate seeing people being picked on for a condition they can't help. So I did something about it.

@Human1000 Maybe but my Dad would watch the Muppets every morning before he went to work as chief of his department and a research Doctor. He had no social issues. He was extremely loving and very popular. He was just playful and happy!
