I saw one when I was a kid in Mexico. I was kind of mesmerized by the fact that it was a human body, but no longer a human. I spent a long time trying to process that I was looking at a thing and not a human, It was obvious to me, but hard to reconcile. My step dad was in this cheap hospital in Guaymas, Sonora, Mexico. In those days it was the dirtiest town I had ever seen. I was exploring in the brush behind the hospital, and came upon this fenced in area,, where they would drained the blood out of the bodies as they replaced the blood with formaldehyde. The blood went into a sewage grate on the floor! There was a weird sour sweet smell that I will never forget. I considered later that they might do that work outside to prevent smelling up the inside of the hospital. That's where I saw the body and the process. Whoever was doing the work must have stepped in while I was looking because no one else was there.
@cherokeepatti Well thank God you came through it well. I have the impeachment trial on in the background. I think I had better change the channel before I throw the refrigerator through the wall.
@cherokeepatti I know. All they are doing is increasing the chances of an actual war in this country. We are not talking about some gang or terrorist cell. These idiots are attacking half of this nation with these outrageous lies and edited videos; These are adults in positions of power!
Sadly, I have seen hundreds or maybe even thousands, acting as a forensic Nurse who was at some of the the mass graves in Bosnia in the mid 90's, seconded to the ICMP, we unburied countless dead, Men, Women and so many children. At first you are terribly affected by it, unfortunately, you become inured to it eventually as your brain simply cannot process it all, the smell and the silence are the things i remember the most as it took months to get it out of my system even after coming home. Like many of us, i puked, i cried, many sleepless nights... Not meaning to sound heartless but you can't imagine the evil until you've seen what Mankind will do to each other.
I saw both my parents. My mother had died about half an hour before I got to the hospial. She looked very peaceful. I was with my father when he had a heart attack - the emergency services talked me through resuscitation procedure while the ambulance was on its way. I knew inside me, though, that he was already dead.
I smelled a dead body about 19 years ago but thought it was an dog that maybe a coyote killed in a patch of woods behind the apartments where I lived. It was a young woman’s body, she lived in the duplexes across the street and had come up missing. A few days later the police took cadaver dogs out there to search the area and couldn’t find her body. This was in August and she would have been decaying by then. I have a feeling someone may have been holding her against her will and took her there later and hung her body in a tree. A boy found her skeleton a few months later and thought it was a Halloween prank and he took the bones and piled them up behind one of the buildings. He couldn’t get the skull loose so he asked an old man if he had any bolt cutters he could borrow. The man said he thought he better find out what that boy was up to before he loaned out his bolt cutters. So he walked around and watched the boy and found the pile of bones and called the police. They interviewed the boy and asked him why he was collecting the bones and he said when his mother was gone he was going to pull back her bedspread and reassemble them in her bed and pull the covers back on top to pull a prank on her. I don’t understand why it took so long to find that body. There was a group of teens that would go out there at night and smoke dope or whatever. Did they find it and decide not to go around there any more or were they a part of it or what? Too many unresolved questions. I moved away in December so wasn’t there when it was found
@SW-User I couldn’t even imagine the first part and then the boy collecting the bones. I saw him on the news, he looked like he was about 12 years old. Probably his mom would go to work and he’d be a latchkey kid or maybe she’d go somewhere on the weekend and leave him for a few hours. He was bragging on finding the bones & thought it was going to be a funny prank.
Well I did and some times sadly in pieces. I got a very good and healthy respect for what weapons of war can do to the human body... unpleasant but eye opening and you are quickly humbled.
My neighbor had a heart attack in his garage the UPS guy saw him laying there and came over to my house in a panic I went over and checked it was very weird but he felt cold and wasnt breathing
If its someone I love, it devastates me. In school , I dissected a cadaver in class. When they are ripe in a house for a few days...dont go in there without something over your face to cover the scent (thieves) . That smell takes its time going away
Run away and call cops from a " safe" distance lmao. I think when I was little I watched a horror movie where corpses came alive got up like zombies and chased you. I might still have that fear sometimes lol
I've seen a few dead bodies. Its not scary maybe odd and sometimes very sad because we are used to seeing people alive more than dead but its not scary. Its scary that people live their whole life never confronted with the idea of death which will happen to all of us that are alive.
