When you feel enlightened, is that for life? Or can u regress back into pig behaviour?

reflectingmonkey · 51-55, M
in the traditional perspective, once you're enlightened its for good because you have dissolved your ego and you understand that you are one with everything and nothing really matters. in more recent times, neo-advaita has become very popular since Ramana Maharshi and then Nisargadatta Maharaj who has himself influenced Ekart Tolle, in neo-advaita it is believed that everyone is already enlightened but our awareness of it is clouded by the ego and the mind. by practicing a detachment from the personality and the world one realizes his "true-self" . the realisation of the true self is called instant-illumination because through a meditation technique this awareness can be realized very quickly. but this state is not permanent and advocates of true advaita vedenta warn people that only the long hard work of detaching from the ego and from attachments can lead to true enlightenment and that instant-illumination only exists while you focus on it and all the weaknesses inherent to the personality come back once someone is not meditating. in other forms also, like Bhakti yoga (what Krishnas and christians do) the enlightenment only persists while in devotion. advaita vedanta , like neo-advaita, think that enlightenment was always right there but ego and attachment cloud our view and these veils take a whole lifetime to dissipate through long work of self-awareness.

You will always switch between the duality of your human and God mind till you decide to awaken the God within you or perish as man

@Dan193 I haven’t watched it but you can actually receive the answer in your head by meditating on it even with any Youtube subliminals/hypnosis audio

@SW-User That's a good point, but I meant it as the definition describes it.
