Did you take a vacation this year? If so where did you go and what did you do?

SageWanderer · 70-79, M Best Comment
Spent time at a few state parks in Ohio and West Virginia seven to ten days at a time. The original plan was two weeks at home then two weeks in the road but had to modify due to Covid and doctors.

sort of. I went to sharpsburg and worked remotely from a more different place - a rented house for a week. mostly I just roamed around a very old town and saw some different things, the battle field there, all very socially distant.

@Stereoguy hehe. it'd probably be more interesting now, with the fall colors.

@Stereoguy Probably the backyard. We used to go up to my sister-in-laws, she lives in the northwest but with this virus I highly doubt it`ll happen.

No and I would have been happy to have taken a 3 day road trip just for a change of scenery,

One business trip to Europe prior to virus. But cancelled Ireland vacation due to quarantine requirements. Did spend a few days in my boat. So that'll qualify as vacation.

Went to Australia for 6 weeks and Cyprus for nearly 6 weeks, I've been extremely lucky considering it’s been a terrible year. ☀️
Fairydust · F
@Stereoguy I live in the north and it’s really bad, I have a few family members with it, the university had 770 cases, it’s just gone sky high since I left.. maybe I’ll just stay here haha 😂

Yes few days away near Winchester.

Made a small pilgrimage to the cathedral to visit Thomas Thetcher's grave. We also looked around the cathedral which I'd not been in for about 40 years.

Had one of those days in the New Forest too.

@Stereoguy It was ok - obviously a bit weird in the Covid times but it was good. We'd been there before so knew the property, the owners, the local area etc. which was good in these uncertain times.

@Stereoguy it was good but a bit too salty. I should have gotten a sweet veggie to balance out the flavor

@Stereoguy July is very hot and August is pricey. For seniors I recommend September.

I took a week off in September. But I did not go anywhere. I drove around my area nearly every day, though.

Within the country I rented a cottage for a week with family. I would have to self isolate for an additional two weeks if I travelled abroad

No vacation here. I was gonna go to the beach but changed my mind due to the weather, not wanting to drive for 4 hours, and well, COVID-19. 😕

I was fortunate to get in a couple of big vacations in before Covid, and have since taken about a half-dozen long weekend getaways.
