Why have people got such an issue with others standing up to racism?

Do you have any values?
33person · 26-30, M
People will say they don't, but they'll accuse someone who speaks out on the issue of hating their country, God, etc. They will insist on doing nothing to address problems for years and years. They will ignore and ridicule peaceful protestors as "communist," "far-left extremists," etc.
After years and years of this, there is scarcely another option but to resort to violence or to accept the injustice.
Since these people are opposed to the rioting in the streets, in addition to the speaking out and the peaceful protesting of years past, the only possible conclusion is that these people want everyone to accept the situation as it is with no change.

People are like this because they feel powerless and are afraid that justice will give them even less power. For the billionaire class, this is actually true. But for poor whites, in a number of cases, actual justice would give them more power as well.

The scum, thug rioters don’t have any values, so no.
Chevy454 · 46-50, M
They’re probably right!!! F them!!@JovialPlutonian
JovialPlutonian · 36-40, M
@Chevy454 what’s more important to you; if you aren’t being blocked driving your car for an hour or that you don’t have to be concerned for your life because of your skin colour?
Chevy454 · 46-50, M
Being blocked @JovialPlutonian
smiler2012 · 56-60
jovialplutonian i reported one on here last night for using a racist word and pulled them up about it and rather tan either apologise for there remark or defend the indefensible they simply blocked me not that really bothers me as people do not want to be subjected to such poisonous hatred on here

@smiler2012 what was the racist word ?
smiler2012 · 56-60
@revenant the n word but spelt with an a rather than er
revenant · F
@smiler2012 yeah well..rappers use it all the time got to say
J0NATHAN · 31-35, M
They've traded their loyalty to their values for loyalty to a party.
JovialPlutonian · 36-40, M
@J0NATHAN they’ve lost their individuality to the group
TiffAching · 26-30, F
When you’re accustomed to being treated with deference, treating others as equals feels like oppression.

Also, just in general, people in power tend to prefer the status quo, so there’s also a strong and insidious culture of blaming the complainers.
JovialPlutonian · 36-40, M
@TiffAching it’s both mind boggling and disheartening at the same time.
kodiac · 22-25, M
I don't have a problem with anyone standing up to it i do have a problem with the person complaining being racist theirselves. Racism doesn't have a color.
kodiac · 22-25, M
@JovialPlutonian What nonsense?
smiler2012 · 56-60
@kodiac yes i suppose racist remarks and racial hatred can be directed both ways but the point i was making is it may not be a one way street but i think one group certainly gets it more
kodiac · 22-25, M
@smiler2012 I think it's 50 50 . Racism is not just a white disease. The protesters have what they say they wanted justice for Floyd .exposure of bad police yet the violence continues.
revenant · F
We need an example since everything has to be linked to racism now
JovialPlutonian · 36-40, M
@revenant well just the general attitude towards people standing up for themselves because they’re discriminated for their skin colour and the responses you see from others.
revenant · F
@JovialPlutonian I still do not see what and who you are talking about. And the context also
