Those who don't think for themselves are the deluded ones and that has no party affiliation.

grayhalo · 41-45, M
No more so than conservatives.
grayhalo · 41-45, M
@Unlearn People are more interested in being right than they are in trying to work together.
Unlearn · 41-45, M
@grayhalo how do you work together with someone who doesn't like you because you're not one of them?
grayhalo · 41-45, M
@Unlearn Your guess is as good as mine.

How about instead of ascribing labels to groups of people, we start judging people on their individual merits? I don't care what someone believes politically. I care how they treat the people around them, and I'm so sick of everyone acting like politics is the only thing that exists in the universe. Life is so much broader, and people are robbing themselves of the possibilities by squabbling over it constantly.

We are too focused on the things that divide us instead of the things that we share, and it's just taking us further and further from what we could be.
Elessar · 26-30, M
@thepreposterouspanda That would imply renouncing to what humans have done best since the very first day on this planet: creating factions and attacking or even killing each others in the name of them. It'll never happen.
thepreposterouspanda · 36-40, M
@Unlearn I didn't say I don't care what they believe. I said I don't care what they believe POLITICALLY specifically. :)
Unlearn · 41-45, M
@thepreposterouspanda yeah I meant the same...if you don't care about it then there's not much to say.

Liberal people tend to be nice but can also be naive about bad things that can happen in the world.It would be great if we all can be liberal but unfortunately reality can bite hard,and those liberals can receive a brutal reality check.
Carver · 31-35, F
Actual liberals are usually enlightened, if not a little too complacent. You're thinking of leftists who are always delusional fanatics and yes, there's a difference.
Unlearn · 41-45, M
@HoraceGreenley lol... pretty accurate.
strongbow · 46-50, M
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
Deluded. Liberalism has become an orthodoxy or belief system. "The truth" is only known to certain enlightened individuals, and it is their duty to get everyone else to see this truth, no matter the cost.
Elessar · 26-30, M
@SumKindaMunster Well, in such case the original poster should've made the title more clear, if it referred to extremists only. If a similar post was made with the word "conservative" rather than "liberals" (or even "right-winger" or "left-winger") you can bet the respective moderates would've been quite pissed as well.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@Elessar I'm only speculating of course, I have no idea the original posters intention.

Are you upset about this post?
Elessar · 26-30, M
@SumKindaMunster Me neither, I suppose your speculation is correct.

I wouldn't say "upset", I just think that this kind of generalisation, voluntary or not, only feeds divisiveness and benefit no side, potentially also resulting in an echo chamber. I'd say the world and the U.S. in particular at the present moment in history need exactly the opposite.
monte3 · 70-79, M
We have seen the light and it is us! 😊. Just. Kidding...
monte3 · 70-79, M
@Unlearn good point, you are not really old enough to have achieved enlightenment,
The more I think about it enlightenment comes after toretirement and Grandkids, so I might be at my ultimate point. 😊
Unlearn · 41-45, M
@monte3 makes absolute sense master!
monte3 · 70-79, M
Thank you son! @Unlearn
tenente · 100+, M
actual there's this really small minority of folks who insist on labeling people liberal or conservative and they are by far the MOST deluded
tenente · 100+, M
@Unlearn unsurprising
Unlearn · 41-45, M
@tenente still doesn't make it anymore sensible...save your comebacks for later.
