Are there still people out there thinking long distance relationships

still work?
Keepitsimple · 51-55, F
No. If there’s no plans to be together within a couple of months I’d rather move on. I’m not gonna sit behind a computer screen making goo goo eyes and sending emoji’s for sex when I can get it for real locally.
DrSunnyTheSkeptic · 26-30, M
Had one, it lasted 2 years and we met 3 times staying together. It's not ideal but it was the only I could have
Ratatouillesque · 26-30, F
@DrSunnyTheSkeptic Nah. It's like having a conversation with me, when I talk with you. There are people like you and me who feel a little out of place and insecure and uncharismatic. It's not just us two feeling like this. There's so many people who think the same about themselves but manage to hide it and push through in social circumstances. And also, try to not make it your focus to appear nice and approachable to girls because it doesn't work. Try to just not care about it but maintain your morals of being a nice person. it will not go forever unnoticed.
DrSunnyTheSkeptic · 26-30, M
@Ratatouillesque I've long lost hope but it's comforting to talk to someone who knows how I really feel.
Ratatouillesque · 26-30, F
@DrSunnyTheSkeptic please just believe your poor little neighbour. I ve done the whole foreveralone ordeal on reddit, I've been heartbroken for 5 years thinking I'll never find love again (love which I found online to begin with)
It will happen. We re far away but from just your replies I knew I liked you. You have interesting and good thoughts, put it into outside world whenever you want and feel it's a good setting for you. It will eventually work out and when it does give me some credit for it :p
Met my spouse on a dating site, we lived 4 hours away from each other. We are still together. :D
IWasCallingYaLarry · 26-30, M
I mean I have a friend who's been in one for almost 10 years and they recently got engaged. They see each other a few times a year and even talk online a lot, too while playing games together or something. It all depends on you.
IWasCallingYaLarry · 26-30, M
@GeistInTheMachine Yeah. She's a few years older than him and she originally was dating his friend but when his friend died of cancer, then those 2 started dating.
GeistInTheMachine · 31-35, M
@IWasCallingYaLarry Well, that's kind of a dark backstory.

Still, good for them.
IWasCallingYaLarry · 26-30, M
@GeistInTheMachine Yeah I'm glad for them. I think the ex who died had given him permission to date her when he was gone, but I am not 100% on that if that's the case. So don't quote me on that.
Lanyx · 41-45, M
I would like to be in on like that.
Jackaloftheazuresand · 26-30, M
Most people make bad choices, I do not trust their outcome as a real indication
Northwest · M
As in you're in a relationship with someone, and you relocate for school, college, etc? They can work, as long as there's a solid plan to be in the same location, at some not too distant point in the future.

If you've never met the person in real life, and you're relying on the Internet, I am not sure there's a good long term prognosis, even if you spend all day long together on Zoom or Skype.
bearinthehalfwayhouse · 26-30, M
I do... I mean... It's kind of annoying not being able to fuck and pics can only do so much but eh...... Sometimes the woman/man you love is across the otherside of the gosh diggidy darn planet.. And iz bootiful!!.. At least that's what I tell myself before I go find an irl one. ┬┴┬┴┤•ᴥ •ʔ/
Ratatouillesque · 26-30, F
@bearinthehalfwayhouse well that's an online relationship and those certainly work out even less.
bearinthehalfwayhouse · 26-30, M
@Ratatouillesque Dawg you'd be surprised. Hoooooooooooo!! Still, unless it's..... Full ldr then nah I don't see that ever happening... But.. Y'know... Meet ups every now and then can keep it alive. ┬┴┬┴┤•ᴥ•ʔ

Apparently.😒

I wonder that if a long distance relationship actually works for them, would a normal one too? You know, those things like snoring and dirty socks on the floor...
LAlexV · M
They can work if you want them to. Just because you can’t handle it doesn’t mean others can’t.
Ratatouillesque · 26-30, F
@LAlexV I can handle distance. But a relationship that will be long distance for an unlimited amount of time, and one that starts long distance does not work out MOST of the time.
SW-User
Yeah I'm in one now and it's fantastic
Ratatouillesque · 26-30, F
@SW-User not being able to see them face to face is fantastic?
SW-User
@Ratatouillesque the relationship is great. I'm excited for my trip to see him
HotMessExpress102 · 41-45, F
It’s one of the hardest things I’ve ever done, but totally worth it!
GeistInTheMachine · 31-35, M
I made a couple work for a long time.
Ratatouillesque · 26-30, F
@GeistInTheMachine but then...oh...it didn't work out
GeistInTheMachine · 31-35, M
@Ratatouillesque Most relationships don't.
Eddiesolds · 61-69, M
Ratatouillesque · 26-30, F
@Eddiesolds alright Eddie hope it works out for you
Eddiesolds · 61-69, M
@Ratatouillesque If I'm ever in one again. It will.Thankyou!
Eddiesolds · 61-69, M
@Ratatouillesque Lmao. I'm not looking. Its sort of nice to be free.
summersong · F
