It's an image, another way of getting ratings, more men watch the news so course if you have a pretty hot looking girl more men are gonna watch the channel, might be bad but that's how it goes.

I can name a lot of women who are over 25 and over 100 pounds who work in news.

The younger reporters are the cheapest reporters. Experienced people cost more money.

Maybe they should hire people qualified to do the job? In our area, you will need to watch the Fox affiliate for this sort of stuff.

I don't know if that's on purpose and I've seen cases where that isn't true. I think a lot of people who apply for TV jobs put a lot of effort into being secure with themselves which might mean for them that they stay in shape so they aren't paranoid about it. I don't think it's some conspirisy.

They should hire whomever they like.
There isn't enough 5 foot 9 guys in the NBA or overweight strippers or unattractive fashion models....life isnt fair.

News is just propaganda. That’s why the women are hired. So the sheep will blindly believe everything on tv

The fat and ugly ones are hired, they are just working behind the camera.
