I know staying home in lockdown is being a hero and not spreading the disease but what can I do if it takes over a year?

MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
It’s not being a hero
@MrBrownstone Nice to see that you are still around to burst everyone's little bubble of happiness... I don't suppose that you are the guy who delights in popping children's balls when they land in your garden, by any chance???

@MrBrownstone We're really watering that term down. But hurray for egos, I guess.
Stay home in lock down for over a year.

Seriously, it won't be continuous... they will relax the laws for a while and toughen them as cases get out of control again.

@HootyTheNightOwl We dont need masks at all you dont catch CV by breating it in or out there is no scientific evidence masks help you catch it by touching the same surfaces as someone who is carrying it hence social distancing and washing your hands regulary
@TJNewton I'm not planning on taking the risk when I get out of lock down...

@HootyTheNightOwl Look it's frustrating for everyone to me the lockdown hasn't gone far enough masks do not help and no one should return to normal until everyone who is still alive gets a vaccine the alternative is come out of lockdown now and millions more will die

Find a job that's labeled essential or volunteer, perhaps.

I just got a call from one of my younger brothers telling me I should be glad not to be living any longer in the ZIP code I grew up in or the place I had my first apartment. Both have several thousand cases existing there. As for a year or more, China (where this began) is suffering a second siege of the virus.

If they manage to make a vaccine there's still nearly a year to go, if you believe in all powerful deities start praying for that.
Currently there are 60 million people in the UK
5000 to 6000 people are being infected every day
It will take 30 years for enough people to be infected and recovered to gain herd immunity.
2 million people will die.
the world health organisation say theres no proof as yet that once recovered you'll be immune, if they're right theres no herd immunity and covid19 wins.
Unless of course something else happens.

Maybe take a class online that will train you to do something you can do from your home computer?

Death is preferable to a disease you might die from. Apparently.
I am asking the same question.Put quite simply I cannot live the rest of my life devoid of all the things I enjoy and any social contact. But I keep reading that is what has got to happen.Well I am happy to join the revolution that I remain convinced will happen.
MaryJanine · 61-69, F
Where I live right now is permitting LIMITED social contact. The general concensus is, if you wear a mask in public and a distance of six feet apart from the next person, then more power to you and go for it. This isn't perfect, but it's better than nothing, as long as you are not sick yourself. The mayor of Chicago has arrested people who are in groups of 10 or more - regular partygoers. One such group was at a wedding with a full church congregation and reception.

Even me, living in this apartment complex, is limited to a distance of six feet when talking to a neighboring resident, and a mask in our laundry area, elevator, and lobby and all public areas.
@MaryJanine I live alone and I am not allowed to go out with anyone or have anyone here. And I have no idea where I could buy a mask if we had that implemented here. But we need to start doing something because there are limits to everyones patience.i think six feet is the same as two metres!
MaryJanine · 61-69, F
@TheSirfurryanimalWales I think your two metres is correct. I live alone, too, except for the residents around me in different apartments of the building, and no one comes here except by invitation and need (the day I moved in two months ago). After that, no one but the janitor comes up. Masks went into effect here to prevent the spread of sickness on the public street.

Have lots of patience?
MaryJanine · 61-69, F
You have to bear with it, as do we all. I order my groceries in and do what needs doing inside. There is always something to do.
MySecretIdentity1 · 46-50, M
You will begin to understand what it means to live in a nursing home.
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
I guess wearing a mask don’t work, otherwise no reason for all this.
polyandrym66 · 70-79, M
Yikes .. Don't even think like that...
DragonSlayerr · 26-30, F
Stay home for a year
What will take a year?
