I know staying home in lockdown is being a hero and not spreading the disease but what can I do if it takes over a year?

I just got a call from one of my younger brothers telling me I should be glad not to be living any longer in the ZIP code I grew up in or the place I had my first apartment. Both have several thousand cases existing there. As for a year or more, China (where this began) is suffering a second siege of the virus.
