Fugly Ducklings have it easier then Plain Janes.
When you're Fugly you can be yourself and often your personality is far more charismatic then Plain Janes or Pretty People.
Where as Pretty People have a hard time facing the hard truth. That the older they get, their looks fade the less people give a shit about them. Then they only have their personalities to fall back on. And quite often the struggle with that is hard for them to bear.

Being with a lot of people doesn't guarantee you to that they will stay until your death. Or sometimes just there to acquire your wealth and even to put you to death first so they can get what they want.
