Do you feel it is safe to start opening the country or do you think we need to wait a little longer?

I think the experts at the CDC created this plan, and they all signed it. Dr. Fauci, Dr. Birx, and one other whose name escapes me.

State by state, governors need to look at the numbers of new cases. If there is ANY period of 14 days with no new cases or almost no new cases, then the state qualifies for very limited expansion...for 14 days. After 14 days...the state governor then re-examines the number of new cases. If there are new cases, the gateway is closed again.

I think that sounds very safe, and reasonable...and as long as we restrict travel in the states that are starting through these gateways...(no travelers from highly infected states)...I think we will be fine.

@4meAndyou NO new cases? I think that's going to be a long time from now. I think the best bet is going to be 14 days of declining cases. I have a feeling it's going to be months before anywhere is close to having no new cases.

@SW-User I don't have a copy of the plans given to the governors, but am remembering it as I heard it during the Presidents presser. If we could get hold of these specifics, it is possible it says low numbers of new cases.
