I tried it once at work... Bearing in mind I had not passed my test.
I managed to reverse the trailer into another work van, and THEN hit that van with the van I was in... that put paid to them let me drive anything for a while.
After a few months they asked me help help out and bring the forklift into the warehouse, and I managed to drive the tines through the side of the building.

I'm not good at it, glad it was only one time. I've seen some people have a problem parallel parking a compact car. ☺️
Zoranna · F
@softspokenman I'm not game to try. lol I can parallel park quite easily though so that's something. 😌

Pretty good but then I did grow up on a farm and got plenty of practice 🙂

It's hard. PS, I hope he's not going camping in the lockdown. Maybe he's using it to ship food supplies to his local community. If you see see a tent and and a camping stove going in phone 999. Good neighbourhood watch Zoranna. stay home, protect the NHS, save lives.

@Ironicman I'm Australian and we're not in lockdown ... yet. We've been requested to stay home, with lots of rules and fines in place for non-compliance of certain conditions, eg travelling outside one's own area, congregating in groups of more than 2 etc. No, no camping gear, lots of garden rubbish in his trailer but he came back with it so I presume the local tip was closed.

@Mandalorian Good for you! 👏
ArishMell · 70-79, M
I used to be reasonably good but that was years ago and so I'd be completely out of practice! The shorter the trailer the more difficult it is, too.
ArishMell · 70-79, M
@Zoranna Yes. It's an effect of the tow-hitch being much further from the trailer's axle.
I had to renew my driving-licence recently when its 10 years ended. I have not examined it closely but I would not be surprised if they have omitted my authority to tow trailers and ride motorcycles, though I don't see myself ever needing them again.

It's easy it's just everything is the opposite. If you want the trailer to right you have to spin the wheel left.

It is actually quite simple. I was a driver back in my younger days. It is similar to riding a bicycle in that once you learn it sticks with you.
WatercolourWildFlowers · 51-55, F
😂 well I am not sure I could even drive it forward, let alone reverse. I have fun neighbours like that too!
Zoranna · F
@WatercolourWildFlowers I'd be game to try it driving forward but definitely NOT in reverse. 🤣
iQuit · F
It's patience and focus.
🐿️ here at home I'm the reverse champ

@SW-User 👏 I'm definitely not.

If you want you trailer to go right when reversing, left hand down on the steering wheel,viza versa
