First thing will be a restaurant dinner followed by an RV trip most likely to Ohio.

@Stereoguy Other than a stop to see the daughter on the way just some of the lakes and hiking trails.

@Stereoguy I lived there about a year, only went back to visit relatives...not much to see
WindTherapy · 56-60, M
@Stereoguy Yeah that is a peculiar "destination". I live in Iowa so can't laugh too hard. ;)

@Stereoguy The river areas are kind of beautiful in the summer but I have never been anywhere in the flat Plains that I’d call scenic

@Stereoguy Did you ask her why she wants to travel there?

@Stereoguy FAR western Nebraska, where I was born, has some beautiful scenery. Buttes, Bluffs, and rock formations...badlands...and plenty of snakes in certain rocky areas. BUT>>>BIG SKIES!!! Huge!!! Sunsets and sunrises not to be believed. There are very few trees...and the people are kind for the most part.

@Stereoguy Well I suppose that's likely true. Less populous states may have a slight advantage in that regard. Like much of the mid-west states there are some nice lakes and areas to see. We've got some beautiful parks locally to camp at. But as a "destination" to travel to it still seems a bit puzzling (outside her fears).

@cherokeepatti Growing up here there is a certain beauty in seeing all the green rows as they grow and develop. But I've always said it must be an acquired taste as it would likely bore most folks. The NE part of the state as some beautiful bluffs and areas along the Mississippi which can be quite nice as well.

@cherokeepatti Sounds like Ohio. Cornfield, cornfield, cornfield, telephone pole, cornfield, cornfield.......
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@SageWanderer when the corn is 20 foot tall all those rows of green for miles is beautiful to me
SageWanderer · 70-79, M
@cherokeepatti We did "Oklahoma" in high school so when we drive past cornfields like that my wife breaks out in song.🎶 The corn is as high as an elephants eye🎶
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@SageWanderer There’s more wheat than corn here
WindTherapy · 56-60, M
@Stereoguy That's true. I've always said it should be more about the "trip" than the destination. Those have been some of our best experiences. Just be safe and enjoy.
