Do you fee the same?

You know that you already forgave, but at times I when I remember everything, there is sudden heavy feeling
BlueVeins · 22-25
I usually end up forgetting before forgiving lol.

@BlueVeins at times, I do too

There really is no such thing as "forgive and forget"' And though we may forgive, pain (be it physical, mental. or emotional) many times leaves scars that do remain sensitive...so it is not uncommon for certain feelings to still pop up when memory kicks in regardless of how much time has passed or how much healing has taken place. Life is full of triggers that bring up those memories (even if they aren't related).

Whenever you remember an incident it'll give you the same feelings you had the first time witnessing it unless something overpowers it. That memory is a stimuli to that feeling.

The way out of that is to look at that memory from a distance (a detached place)
DragunFruit · 26-30, F
@MasterofNone but what if the person is someone who is inside you circle. Ex. Bf, sister, brother
MasterofNone · 26-30, M
@DragunFruit you would keep getting those feelings often and it is what happens in every relationship. Same frustrations happen forever. Classic example is relationship between parents and their kids since that's the relationship from where there's usually no way out.

But yes there is a way and that is being in a meditative (detached) state of mind. In this state of mind, every moment is experienced as an entirely new moment so old patterns never get repeated.

Yes, traumatic experiences floating back😞

Yeah I know the feeling.

Then I recognized that I didn't actually forgive, I just convinced myself I had for survival. Then I realized that sometimes not forgiving a monster is okay. That you SHOULDN'T forgive abuse.
You learn to grow away from it.
