Should people have the right to fly confederate flags on their property?

SW-User
you can if you want. No one is stopping anyone from being a racist asshat.

Germany handled the swastika issue the right way.

I see them where Iive and assume the owners were dropped on their heads as a child.

It has zero to do with pride.
I have family who fought for the south. Poor farmers sold on lies that landowners told.

Freedom of expression so I suppose it is a right.
Should ppl have a right to tell others what flags they can or can’t fly?

Unless we decide as a country that it's not acceptable, fly on. That doesn't mean people won't be treated differently for their decisions.

For now we still have freedom. Best if we enjoy it before they take it away from us.

We have a guy here who drives around with an enormous one on his pickup truck. No one has stopped him. Unless you lived in a place with a homeowners association, you can fly any flags you want.
Do they honor that, over the flag of the United States?

A symbol of hate and insurrection. I personally think it should be banned.

Certainly. If I can wipe my butt with heavily discounted Donald trump toilet paper, why not? Of course. I should not be allowed to display that in public and neither should they..

People do generally have the "right" to, unless they live in a neighborhood in which there are restrictions. Should they have the "right" to? Yes, I'd have to say so...in most cases.
Tastyfrzz · 61-69, M
If you do you'd be treated pretty badly up here. Probably have all your window shot out and truck burned out. I wouldn't recommend it.
Mountainlady16 · 22-25, F
Just about every house in my neighborhood has one including ours
Tastyfrzz · 61-69, M
They'd also take your kids away.
@Tastyfrzz Good. KKK deserve to have their children rescued from their custody.
Because of the First Amendment, people have the right to fly Swastikas on their private property. To me it’s basically the same thing, which is why hate groups and white supremacists fly it.
pentacorn · F
@bijouxbroussard it's exactly the same, to me. i've seen people don both via tats, truck window screens, t-shirts... and i appreciate the fact that they make themselves known.

@pentacorn flying a confederate flag doesn't make someone racist
@Billybob2 At the least it means they’re proud of the South’s racist past.
CodeLyoko · 16-17, M
Yes, its has two meanings
@CodeLyoko What’s the meaning not associated with secession, slavery and segregation ?
Billybob2 · 26-30, M
@bijouxbroussard heritage of course
@Billybob2 A heritage of owning other human beings, based upon their skin color, in the United States, which was founded on principles of freedom. And after the Civil War, it was flown again by segregationists. Then and now it’s been flown by the KKK, who murdered thousands of people. What an evil heritage to celebrate.
It's there property I don't see why not
