Does your significant other have anything in common with you?

I want me and my girlfriend/wife to have common interests but bough differences that we don't get bored with each other. I imagined her as liking Astronomy, Classic Rock, and Video Games. I pictured her favorite video game franchises as being Zelda, Sonic, Mario, Lara Croft, maybe Final Fantasy, and Warcraft. I want us to have differences outside of Astronomy, Classic Rock, and Video Games.

My wife and I do have some differences, but we are so much alike and have so much in common that it's surreal. That is why we are not only husband and wife, we are also equal partners and best friends. Our relationship started strong and has grown stronger with each passing year.

Neither of us are sports fans. We are both huge bookworms, and if it were up to us, we would sit around all day doing nothing, but playing chess.
We studied the same exact thing in college, and we are now coworkers.

We are both only children. And neither of us want kids in the future. (When we found out that we shared that in common, there was a minute where I thought he was playing some sick joke.) 😂

Yes, my girlfriend and I are both computer science undergrads. But she lives in the UK so she’s more educated than me in math and CS. She helps me with my programming and math work.
Also, we both love BDSM; she’s my pet.
Also, we’re both trans: I’m trans male and she’s trans female.

Also, we both like roleplaying.

I’m not sure I would have a long lasting relationship with someone I had nothing in common with. I don’t mind we like watching different stuff on tv or movies but I hope we would have similar interests like food, animals, holidays and things.
