I was thinking about this earlier, but there are benefits to being ugly. You don't have anyone bother you in public, probably.

You don't have much hope to begin with, so you can acknowledge the desire for a partner is probably a lost cause, so you can gain acceptance and at least significantly reduce that desire: and thereby, pain.

People take your skills seriously, and may actually listen to what you're saying, rather than just looking at your face like it's a light and they're a bug being drawn into it.

You don't really have to put effort into your appearance, because hey, you're ugly, who cares.

You have to learn how to get really good with the opposite sex, because they're not sold by default--and prolly only 'cause they like they way you look without caring who you are.

All in all, it's all about perspective, no matter what it is.

I wish everyone in the world was blind too. Color wouldn't be seen; appearances couldn't be judged. Your kindness, your intelligence, your loyalty and love would be acknowledged. People cut themselves short when they can't see beyond the exterior. Now, if we were all blind ... would people love you or hate you? That's the important question.

Looks are over-rated. When I say that nobody wants me "because I am a crippled hunchback"it is not so much because of the looks, it is because they can't imagine spending their life with someone who cannot hold up their end of things physically. My hunchback just advertises it before I can tell them myself.
