The future has yet to come so jumping into the future could be instant death. Why would I take the chance of instantly dying when I could revisit a time that I might enjoy. Past history is already fascinating and has so much that we know and so much we could still learn about but guarantee it will still be there and the world hasn’t been struck by a meteor or overrun by some plague that scientists could never get under control or even more so the world governments went psycho and nuclear bombed the whole world.

Roman Empire, ca. 250 AD.

@CharlieZ The main virtue of that time was its "ambiguity tolerance".
CharlieZ · 70-79, M
@helenS A bit "postmodern" in advance for my taste.
Being fair, the resemblance is not surprising as philosophic backgrounds for ehmmmm (trying my best to be elegant) decadence of an era.
helenS · 36-40, F
@CharlieZ The alleged "decadence" of that era is a slander, spread by Christians, destroying the multi-culturalism of antiquity they so hated.

As long as i could come back dinosaurs would be my first visit

If and only if I could modify my past:
- To 1974 and 1978 (different momments of the same).
- Some point of 2013 and next three years.

I would go back to my last year in high school, so that I could tell my past self never, never get married, unless I knew the person extremely well, and knew and admired all of their qualities. I would tell my high school self that sexual attraction without careful thought is the worst way to choose her own future.
JoeyFoxx · 56-60, M
I would go to Aug 15, 2019 to visit myself, which is all the evidence I need to know that I will never have one.
I'd just go 4days into the future... find out which horses won which race...come back and bet them up..!
GlassDog · 46-50, M
If I could only use it once, I think I'd probably go back 100,000,000 years.
TAReturns · M
I'd go tell my younger self a lot of things.
helenS · 36-40, F
@TAReturns Self-contradictory! 😁

Generally speaking, the past sucks total ass. Future, here we come!
KittenfromHell · 61-69, F
1968. And I'd kill the neighborhood pedophile.
TheThinker · 56-60, M
@KittenfromHell Sorry to hear that.

Admiral Kimmel's office on December 6th, 1941. I'd say, "Hey Hugh! How'd you like to be a big hero tomorrow and let that chump MacArthur suck ass in a couple of days?" He's be like, "Mac's a dick! Tell me more."
