From Protestant to Pagan

Not at all. Doctrine is different. In this age, nowhere in the Bible does it say to go to the priest for confession and forgiveness of sins. We go straight to Jesus in prayer. Jesus is our High Priest and only Mediator between God and man now. His Word also says not to pray to or worship Mary.

@LadyGrace Catholics do that... Evangelist dont worship jesus they worship god the father.. but yes it's all praise to the father god right?
@Luvbuttz I know some. They do, do that. Evangelists worship Jesus, yes. Jesus IS God. God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit....all are God. The trinity. They are different people, yet one in the spirit, in agreement with each other, but all working together.

Jesus said, there are many paths and many gods, but only one easy and one God we should follow, and that is Jesus. The rest lead to destruction. Up to you.

Catholic IS Christianity...all others who aren't necessarily Catholic are referred to a Protestant. It's all Christianity though (I've heard a lot of people make this "distinction" but don't know how or where they come up with it except it's just ignorance of the religion).
indyjoe · 56-60, M
@Luvbuttz That's what I was saying in my first response about ignorance of Christianity... there are alot of people who claim to be believers but don't really know what it is they believe or why they believe it. All of Christianity claims to be the one true religion set up by the one true God...yet cannot explain why it has broken down into so many denominations who believe different things and often cannot even get along. Kind of make "God" look bad for creating something that makes no sense when he is supposed to be so perfect and infallible doesn't it?
Luvbuttz · M
@indyjoe you make a good point
indyjoe · 56-60, M
@Luvbuttz I was raised in Christianity (both church and school)...that is why I know what I do about it and that is why I am no longer a follower of it.
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
Technically, anyone whose prayers, etc., accept Jesus Christ are Christian, regardless of the sect. Unless you have a specific "need" to believe that the sect you choose is the only "real" religion, and that all followers of others are doomed to death why should you switch to another?
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@DudeistPriest think of the millions of humans slaughtered over the years because they prayed to a different god!
@samueltyler2 That thought has crossed my mind many times. Very sad. If they would just start with not killing.
@samueltyler2 actually, a good deal of those who were slaughtered was because they were suspected of intending to impose a different way of life on their slaughterers
Regarding the practice of religion, secular to believer to Roman Catholic to Christian scholar to secular agnostic. Not religious at all anymore, more spiritual. I do believe there's a Supreme Being though, just not what's presented in the Bible.
@Luvbuttz If by faith you mean in something you can't see, yes. But even so, I can't prove it. Read what people say about their experience after death and coming back. Now that's first hand experience from a real live human being.
@indyjoe I had to go through the experience of reading verse after verse of contradictions starting with Genesis.
indyjoe · 56-60, M
@DudeistPriest Me too, and I also committed the "unpardonable sin" of Christianity...I began to question a lot of things.
Yip lol,
I was raised Catholic so I just went along with it til I was about 13 when I became a raging atheist to my grandparents horror and dissaponitment... My atheism softened over time where I stopped jumping down peoples throats for having different beliefs than me lol then when I was 19 I became agnostic where I didn't believe anyone could know the answers and then when I was 27 I had what some would call a spiritual awakening and iam now a person with spiritual beliefs and I do believe in god... Not the conventional man in the clouds though
Luvbuttz · M
@MushroomFaerie more like your own higher power?
@Luvbuttz I feel like we are apart of it yeah but I don't feel like iam my own God
Luvbuttz · M
@MushroomFaerie yea I get what you mean
Fantabulous · 46-50, F
I was a practicing Christian growing up, but have found I relate more to Spirituality since my 30s, albeit I do believe in God.

Why don't you ask him what the difference is? I know there are so many layers to Christianity in general, many offshoots, but I don't know if your friend has become a Born Again or, has just decided to stop going to church, or he means something entirely different.
Luvbuttz · M
@SW-User I do know Catholics worship saints aswell as the virgin Mary unlike Christianity
