Why do adults and teens ignore crying children?

They get told to get over it and give it them hard. I work at a preschool and the teachers ignore crying children. I would give in but they get upset because the kids are manipulating me and I can't even see it. When a child is crying I can't help feel bad, even when they deserve the punishment. I think teachers are becoming meaner and meaner. I got told I'm too nice and I need to give them tough love.

Well, how else are they going to grow up to be emotionally distant serial killers?

because little children need to learn that the world is not sparkles and unicorns, if you raise a cat indoors and then put it in the backyard itll never know what to do when confronted with the dog next door
nekomancerSenpai · 22-25, M
@LaurieKitKat94 good luck getting more strict when they are older instead of becoming strict when they are young so they know proper manners
LaurieKitKat94 · 26-30, F
@nekomancerSenpai Let the preschool kids think it's rainbows but people want them to grow up so fast and hurt then with brutal truths.
nekomancerSenpai · 22-25, M
@LaurieKitKat94 personally im glad my parents didn't do such a thing, living thinking that the world is rainbows is the prison of nievity that will keep them from reality

because when a kid is crying for 10min (dare i even say 5?) or more the objective is to gain attention, not sadness.
DoubleRings · 51-55, F
Because you reward the negative behaviour @LaurieKitKat94
LaurieKitKat94 · 26-30, F
@DoubleRings no I don't. I got told I was too nice
DoubleRings · 51-55, F
Sorry but you are.... being too nice AND rewarding the behaviour @LaurieKitKat94

Refrigerator mothers! I know this charged is not believed as it used to be, with regards to autism anyway. But I do wonder and strongly believe it causes problems, if not autism then other things...

Two things I can never ignore, crying babes & sad old people 😐
Shell · 31-35, F
@BalmyNites I agree. And I love that you didn't forget old people. They need love and care too
BalmyNites · F
They so do, half the problems with this world are people feeling lonely & unloved 🤗@Shell
Shell · 31-35, F
@BalmyNites Yes indeed 🙂🤗
Shell · 31-35, F
Tough love means doing whats right for someone even if it hurts you to do it, not being annoyed about showing kindness to a child.
LaurieKitKat94 · 26-30, F
@SW-User I don't get it
SW-User
@LaurieKitKat94 what I'm saying is that ignoring children in emotional distress fucks them up
LaurieKitKat94 · 26-30, F
@SW-User Oooh language. Okay I get it
purplepen · 51-55, F
Maybe it's hard to know what the kids need sometimes.
SW-User
🤷🏽‍♂️
LaurieKitKat94 · 26-30, F
@SW-User I don't get it either.
whateverhappens · 26-30, F
Yeah I know what u mean, with all that's going on with preschools and daycare youd think people would be more careful with their jobs
SW-User
It’s the Trump era.
nekomancerSenpai · 22-25, M
@SW-User that has nothing to do with this, in fact teachers are the most touchy feely they've ever been
SW-User
@nekomancerSenpai how is touchy-feely meaner and meaner?
nekomancerSenpai · 22-25, M
@SW-User what im saying is that teachers these days are too soft if anything
MethDozer · M
Its called self soothing. Kids need to learn to cry it out and move on their own or they end up in therapy as adults.
LaurieKitKat94 · 26-30, F
@MethDozer Yes but ignoring children doesn't do any good. My oldest brother said kids need to learn to do things for themselves and the world isn't all unicorns and rainbows. He said to stop sugarcoating life to kids because they'll be in it for a rude awakening if we don't tell it like it is, even if they won't like it. Tell them anyways.
MethDozer · M
@LaurieKitKat94 If they aren't hurt, then let them cry it out.
