Why do adults and teens ignore crying children?

They get told to get over it and give it them hard. I work at a preschool and the teachers ignore crying children. I would give in but they get upset because the kids are manipulating me and I can't even see it. When a child is crying I can't help feel bad, even when they deserve the punishment. I think teachers are becoming meaner and meaner. I got told I'm too nice and I need to give them tough love.

Its called self soothing. Kids need to learn to cry it out and move on their own or they end up in therapy as adults.

@MethDozer Yes but ignoring children doesn't do any good. My oldest brother said kids need to learn to do things for themselves and the world isn't all unicorns and rainbows. He said to stop sugarcoating life to kids because they'll be in it for a rude awakening if we don't tell it like it is, even if they won't like it. Tell them anyways.

@LaurieKitKat94 If they aren't hurt, then let them cry it out.
