What do you think of modern naming trends with nicknames?

I see it all the time on baby naming sites, where women will be like, "I'm going to name my son Finnigan Sebastian Gulliver Reed Smith and call him Finn."
I'm thinking okay...why don't you just name him Finn then? 🤔
I get giving a kid options, but not that many! 😁

That's old school. The name on my birth certificate is lengthier than the name I use, or even what my parents call me (although no one pronounces my first name the way my parents do).
