Im not religious in fact im an atheist. prayer can take many forms and when i pray it gives me peace of mind and and instant feeling of calm

Greenmantree44 · 31-35, M
I do believe in it...and that it can create miracles,
At the same time, I believe that there needs to be wisdom
because not all prayers are positive ones,
but it will be okay so long as our motivation is positivity.

I do experience in things that enhanced prayers,
As they are such as group prayers and additional tools like gemstones;
The best I'd say is doing at a Holy Places
because of the essence and consecration...things are stronger.

From what I've been through,
There are those who pray for others;
They think they're helping, but they're not...
...They're motivated by fear, and blinded from seeing the truth.

So yes, prayers can create various effects
but I don't want to be so much into it
unless I want to be like a priest
and pray for others all the time.

Prayer is like Masterbation. It only pleases the person doing it, does nothing for the person being thought about!!
It's selfish.. 🤷‍♀️

@Montanaman No worries ✌

Yes I do....the problem is atheists and so on reply well you prayed and it doesn't happen thus it doesn't exist,

My father once explained to me when I prayed for something and did not get it. "Abri, God answers all prayers. Sometimes the answer is no."

The power of prayer...
I pray often, to myself.
I wish I were strong enough a man, to pray out loud with my wife.
So we both pray often, but in our own way.
Our prayers have been answered many many times.
But what is most amazing,
Are those times where our prayers were answered Before
We ever asked.

Do you guys remember the 1.3 Billion lotto last year?
Well, I admit, I prayed to God to win.
Of course, I didn't win.
But that doesn't mean my prayers weren't answered.

I ask God, if it's your will, then it will be done.

God knows what I need more than I do.💕🤗🙏

I believe even if a higher being doesnt give you what you ask for neatly packaged and presented at your front door, guidance is provided by the practice of prayer, its like mediation, your calm and focused on one thing, your environment is supposed to be clean and clutter free, youre also supposed to be free from distractions too.

That in itself provides you with the headspace to finding a solution.

Also when you pray with others you connect differently, it can be a very emotional and spiritual experience.

I do believe. I am religious though and I have felt god answer me in mysterious ways that I could never explain

Studies show that the stress sick people feel when they imagine everyone thinking about them actually does more harm than good to their immune systems.

I can't cite the studies off the top of my head though, so it's all conjecture currently I suppose.
Abrienda · 26-30, F
@YourBuddyRandall I am sorry but what does that have to do with prayer, which is the answer to stress?
Montanaman · M
@YourBuddyRandall but what if they have no clue that people are praying for them?
And yet people are.
Their loved ones, friends, family, coworkers.

I am not a religious person, but I have always believed in 'God' and maintained a personal relationship. I talk to God often and though I don't believe that God necessarily works magic and grants wishes, I do talk about things on my mind and things going on in my life. I do ask for God's guidance and blessings, I even ask for help on occasion when I'm facing or dealing with something that I have a bit of doubt or fear over. I always give thinks to God for everything in my life. I have always felt God's presence in every aspect of my life and I am convinced that God hears, listens to, and even answers prayers...or just provides me the wisdom, knowledge, strength, and even the means to answer them myself. There are many things and many times throughout my life where it is a mystery as to how I ever made it through, got passed it, and moved beyond, its a wonder sometimes that I've gotten to where I am now and have what I have now. There are things that have defied explanation too and I am convinced that God had a hand in it. So yes, I do believe in the power of prayer and I believe in it working and being answered whether the response is yes, no, or just have patience and wait (even if the answer is not exactly what I personally was wanting or expecting... many times it's just as good or even better). God watches over me and takes good care of me. God is a great friend and always has been.

I believe in the power of goodwill. It's all about harnessing the positive energies and utilizing those to benefit us and others. After all, we are just result of matter and energies interacting. Good or bad happens based on how they interact. Maybe through prayers, goodwill, meditation and other means we try to bring the best out of everything. For some of us it works, while it doesn't work for others. Maybe it depends on how devoted and focussed we are while performing any of those rituals, or maybe there's some process to do it right not known to us, but some just get it done without even knowing it.

I think if you think a certain way, certain things can happen. We don't fully understand the universe yet and even though I don't follow a religion everything uptil now has made too much sense. Nobody has the copyright to what God means
Abrienda · 26-30, F
@SW-User Looks like I was not the only one "triggered". You are not going to get what you want so try somewhere else.

@Abrienda lol looks like you nothing better to do than pick on people online
Abrienda · 26-30, F
@SW-User 😴 Oh...sorry...you still here?
No, I do not.
Prayer is mostly used in religious traditions. I am not religious.
Montanaman · M
@Underconstruction Neither am I.☺
But still...🤔
I had been doubtful, until recently. When an answer too unusual to be ascribed to mere coincidence, arrived.
@Abrienda Yes, humility is key.
Only then, can the Lord truly reveal Himself to us and begin needed work within our lives.

You're right. The trolls that such posts inevitably attract, would do well to remember this.
Abrienda · 26-30, F
@SethGreene531 I NEEDED to remember it.
@Abrienda Good you got that straightened out then. Sooner the better.

I think it works

I do not, but if it works for someone else, it works. 🤷‍♂️

yes maybe not actually sitting praying like i used to but when it is needed the most and every time it gets me out of a difficult situation
Ian123 · 61-69, M
The power of prayer can achieve most things, it does depend on what you are praying for though! And no you dont have to be religious 😇
suzie1960 · 61-69, F
No. It doesn't have power but it can provide an emotional crutch for some.
