the last one, on a global scale was just two years ago. I'm sure another one will crop up. But they tend to be in one location, every few years. I remember Vancouver in 86

@CaptainMac Interesting, not the kind of place you'd expect one but I guess now they go all over.

Much has been said of the Exposition Universelle that took place in Paris in 1889. As well as the 1933 World's Fair that was in Chicago and the 1939 World's Fair '"the World of Tomorrow" that was in NYC-and still lets dreamers dream.

I'd like to see them return but I believe on like the 1889 one we are past. The romantic Paris of 1885-1928 is long gone. And while the city should not matter but rather the content marketing has changed and well as what many find entertaining.

We have focused trade shows etc now. They are easier to market both to exhibitors and the punters. Huge ones just attracting lots of people simply don't make commercial sense to the companies you'd want to attract.

@Winterwine That's cool, did you attend?

My parents went to the Glasgow Garden Festival in 88, not quite an exhibition but the last large scale comparable event to my knowledge.
