I've painted myself into a corner

and agreed to "celebrate" Christmas with the family despite having big feelings about the uselessness of it all. My ma is a Buddhist and my father an atheist: no major godbotherers in the family so I've that to be thankful for. I'm just going to drink my fill and play Lego with my nephew.

Doesn't sound like too bad of a corner. At any rate, it will be over soon.

@PhoenixPhail True. It's just one day. But concentrated family and me don't really mix well.
@Cavedweller Is it better to just be appropriate with them, knowing their propensities, than to create any challenges?

@PhoenixPhail I don't intend to rock the boat. Nope, smiles no matter what goes on.

@Fernie Heck yeah. Eat a delicious lunch, enjoy some wine and hunker down with some Lego.
@Cavedweller Very smart strategy.
