My manusis is shredded in both knees ,I have an autoimmune disease eating the
cartilage in any joints through out my body ,so my knees are both bone to bone
I was recently tripped my a vine ,,I stepped on one end and hooked my foot under the rest of it ,,and the hard fall to both knees didn't injure my knee's any further ,,buy man did it mess up my back ,,it knocked the wind out of me I hit so hard ,,,so I feel for you young man
It does suck to get old ,,without any other complications LOL

@trackboy yea ,thanks for the advise ,,wish you had been around before I spent $20.000.00 having part of my spine removed
The chiropractor did take my money for a year ,and only making me hurt worse
The surgeon said I am lucky he did not paralyze me for life
My Spinal cord is flattened in 2 places ,,,I can pay a surgeon to touch it now
no one wants the risk of paralyzing me
The disease had eaten 12 disks ,,eat the cartilage out of my joints and knees and put spurs in both shoulders ,an impingements in my right shoulder

@trackboy my disease is part hereditary ,part autoimmune disease and I have been battling with doctors and the problems with my back since my 20's longer than you have been alive with my shoulder ,not to be offensive but backs are not one is the same as them all ,I hate even mentioning my back problems unless its just to say "Brother ,I feel your pain ,trust me I know what you mean ,I suffer with back and knee problems too ,,my back has helped me earn the moon ,and then took it away from me ,but no one gets the pain ,unless they walk in our shoes no matter how much they try to pretend they get us ,
and no they can't do a fusion or any such procedures
specialists have said the only help there is for me is if stem cell gets further advanced so I could grow a new spine ,or we get to the point we could replace your whole spine ,their words "your spine is some kind of screwed up " and the VA are a bunch of idiots ,,,why it took them so long to see this is beyond me ,,,they have punished you over the abuses of others
They have over prescribed Narcotics to those who didn't need them ,while a man like you that clearly did ,they made suffer ,needlessly ,"the VA pisses me off "
That was the word of my current doctor .
With so many nerves and sensory nerves its not possible to replace and entire spine , though if my neck gets any worse they will put 4 discs in from a cadaver, But they only want to do that if they have to ,like if it gets severe enough it starts causing me lose of bodily functions
I have had my nerve system mapped and over 200 sensory nerves are encroached in scar tissue from the surgery where they removed the lamina on my right side
C3 ,C4 ,C5 ,C6 ,L5 and S1 ,,,but just since 2013 they have seen far more degeneration than they expected
But in 1987 a nurse ,,not a doctor ,an LPN put in my records I was self medicating ,that along with a note from my surgeon as to why he was no longer going to prescribe me narcotics ,cost me 20 yrs of hell
My doctor stopped giving me narcotics as they were enabling me to keep working in construction ,in his opinion the major cause of my advanced condition ,so he wanted me to go to vocational rehab and train for something that I was not lifting more weight than my back was able to carry anymore ,
So since I admitted I was unable to continue working like that without the aid of pain pills ,,the no more pain pills ,,but he only meant until I quit lifting and carrying heavy loads ,,not forever ,,,but the VA did not bother to read on and see what the doctor meant ,,they only read "No more narcotics " so thats what they added to my records only they added "Drug Seeker ,addicted to Narcotics "No Narc NO Narcs !!!!!and without any further investigation into the cause of my pain ,,just a few Xrays (that didn't even show the Lamina gone
They started telling me my pain was all in my head ,,so you have no clue who fed up I am ,someone who has not even looked at my MRI's attempting to diagnose me

They found a spur that looked like a knife blade and it was cutting a tendon in two ,that doctor said had I kept using that are I could have done damage no one back in 1994 could fix (I have no clue if they could fix it now ,but a specialist has advised NO more surgery ,to try and manage my pain
With what ,,Narcotics ..the very thing the VA said I was a high risk for abuse of ,,People who never looked at the first MRI basically ruined my life and made me suffer while they gave narcotics to millions who sold them ,who never needed them at all ,,,and I suffered ,,,so here is how they finally found out there really was a reason for all my pain ,and damn this poor man must be suffering ,muscle contractions are actually pulling she "S" curve out of his spine ,,the pain from the amount of Spinal stenosis pressing on nerves must be hell . (they had not even seen the results of the EMG's ,results of the nerve mapping study (and that test my friend is hell all by itself ,,
electrodes all over your body ,then they stab a probe into you nerves until they see a signal on the screen ,,,then they put electricity to it ,,and see how much of it reach's the electrodes ,,and if the nerve is encroached it wont

I know my pain is not in my head ,and I know this is going to prove it ,
He said I can't tell you anything ,"on the record " but I know what I am looking at " it is not in your head ,,,your spine is anything but normal
The results were 12 discs deteriorated ,they won't even take dye (contrast )
both knees bone to bone (because of the autoimmune disease they do not want to touch them unless they lock up ,they do pain blocks ,drain any fluids if they blow up again ,but the do not recommend surgery unless absolutely necessary. Both shoulders have bone spurs and the right one has an impingement ,,
the lower lobe of my left lung collapsed and a bad valve in my heart ,confirmed by a heart cath ,,that was checked into twice after my second heart attack ,I have had 3 ,,,my spinal cord is flattened in 2 places ,
they do not recommend I have surgery on that either ,the operation could paralyze me ,I am still able to walk ,my pain is manageable with pain blocks and pain meds ,,they say its not worth the risk
In 1990 I was told I would never work again ,,I ran a dry wall crew and worked 10 yrs after they said that ,,9 days after surgery I installed a oak flooring
They said I would need revision surgery ever 3 yrs ,,I have let NO one cut on me since 1990 ,the pain has not crippled me yet as I was in 1989,,
they said I would be in a wheel chair not later than age 45 that my spine looked like a 90 yr old man ,,,the autoimmune disease and arthritis had done a number on my spine ,,,well I won my battle finally about the narcotics
I am in the CDC and DEA data base as having chronic ,failed Laminectomy .
Sad to say I know my body better than any doctors ,,I am the one that had to live in it all these years while they over prescribed narcotics to people that didn't need them ,and treated someone like me that did like a junkie
I am now in a highly accredited pain center ,pain management and rehabilitation practice ,2 of the best surgeons in the country on my team
Now I only let the VA deal with my heart and lungs ,,,my back and knees I leave to doctors who are the best in their field ,,
I am done with quack's that tried to make me look crazy and caused me to suffer needlessly

@rckt148 that bites big time you had total quacks for doctors and completely missed what was wrong with you and made you suffer. I have read they have developed artificial disks. you would be prime candidate for them. they cant go in cut out the bone spurs? put in artificial knees so you can walk again?? va is famous for lousy medical care. you should get on Medicaid and then you can get better care in regular hospitals.

The VA tried to force me into another drug programs ,
I had a VA doctor put me back on my medication ,,she was the one who told me about all the recommendations to never let me have narcotics again ,but after looking at the MRI's that were current ,,she cried ,and said it was a shame that over the screw ups of others I had been forced to suffer but she was fixing the problem ,,,it took 4 months for the computer to even allow her to prescribe my 120 (5 mg Oxycodone ) ,then she is offered a position in Virginia ,and passed me off to the spinal cord injury specialist ,
He makes me watch a video of the President saying he was ending the opioid crisis and then tells me I no longer fit the new guidelines ,I have until January to be in the drug treatment program or I was going it alone ,He has no choice ,he is cutting my pain meds off again ,,,but if I get on SUBOXONE ,,an even stronger Narcotic then the oxycodone ,,he can guarantee for at least the next 18 yrs no one will take that drug away from me ,he is the only one authorized to write the script for them and he will be my pain management doctor from now on ,,,if I will just say I am in need of help I am addicted to narcotics ,,,,,and I would have screwed myself again and lost my right to bear arms ,,,,not happening
As to removing spurs they say they look like crystals all through my body
The autoimmune disease eats away ,my body tries to repair the damage ,I end up with something that looks like sand spurs ,,As to cutting on me again the Specialists ,,,,more than one ,,says as long as I can function as well as do
They recommend no more surgery ,none ,they have cleared my meds with the government ,,I do meet the guidelines ,,and I am a very wise man not to let the VA make me sign Anything saying I am dependent to anything ,,my pain is real ,,the damage is severe ,and my disease aggressive ,,they will do their best to keep me comfortable ,,but no more surgery
You don't seem to get ,,the more they mess with things ,the worse my nerve damage could be ,,and now I am also battling Sugar Diabetic ,all the time I was inactive ,dealing with pain the 2 yrs they took my meds away ,
its taken a huge toll on me ,,and I have a 10 yr old son ,

The Pharmacy never gives me crap and all the hassles I got every single month from the VA ,I pay $12 for a visit ,meds are only $6.00 a month
I get pain blocks every 3 months lower back and shoulder .
The VA manages my sugar and my heart ,Pain management takes care of my pain
I pay my deductible over 3 months starting in January ,,so everything is better
My Daughter tried to get me to go outside the VA yrs ago ,but lots of people were looking at how they treated me ,,it gave them hope when I won ,,scared the crap out of them when I lost ,,,now most of them signed the admission they are dependent on narcotic ,,soon they will all loose their CCW permits
They are to high risk to carry fire arms ,,,I will not allow that to happen to me ,,they can take my pain pills ,they can't have my gun
I can feed my family very well with my guns when the government no longer can .I owe no one anything that I can't pay off in full by selling one of my guitars ,,,,no one has me over a barrel ,and no one will ever again
I have been this way most of my life ,,,since my swine flue vaccine anyway
if this is the cost for serving my country ,,I have no regrets
I would do it again ,,I am glad I had the chance to serve

@rckt148 there is arthroscopic surgery they can go in with a small hole and take out spurs. there are meds for damaged nerves that would help. if you have type 2 diabetes you need to take chromium picolinate for it. will be better then. they have meds to effect the immune system maybe they could get the immune system to stop attacking your body. you able to get food stamps???? 🦃
