When someone speaks spanish to you how confused do you get?

Because I clearly don’t speak Spanish but everytime I go to this Mexican restaurant one of the guy who works there insists on speaking to me in Spanish. I go there so regularly he knows I dont speak Spanish and he speaks English he just does it for I don’t know what reason. And I’m always like “yeaah. Idk hahaha 😬”

I don't speak Spanish...yet, I hope to...but I take a bus twice a week with people who only speak Spanish and we communicate just fine and laugh a lot. Language is only one way to communicate

It confuses me why the hell they assume I speak Spanish. Like if I went to Mongolia I wouldn't walk up to a guy in front of his yurt and expect him to understand what I was saying to him.
