@SW-User maybe if I remarry into a rich family who knows?

SW-User
@OstrichClaw There ya go... she's out there. Go git her. 😏
My mother and father-in-law have both passed away recently. They left behind two homes and had invested a lot of their money. We ended up with quite a nice sum of money once it was divided by 3.
But, I'd give every dime of it back, just to have another day with them.

@submissivelittlewoman It will be very similar probably with my in-laws...they are good people so I don't want to find out anytime soon.

SW-User
@submissivelittlewoman sorry for your loss...
@SW-User thank you

SW-User
I expect and hope they'll live a long time so it'll prob be sold to pay for carers.
indyjoe · 56-60, M
My parents put it their will that everything they have is to be sold (and there is not a lot of that left because they had to get rid of a lot in order to be approved for their disability) and the money divided equally between me and my "brother"...however I'm not counting on much at all. They both have had medical problems for years and the bills have piled up then once taxes are taken out, plus funeral expenses (they have insurance but not a lot)...there won't be much left and maybe nothing at all, in fact it may not cover it all an my wife and I will be stuck paying off the rest. I say my wife and I because My so called brother will dump it all on me some way he always has and does. I don't even want to think about it right now.

SW-User
@indyjoe Yeah that's hard.. I'm sorry. :/
indyjoe · 56-60, M
@SW-User Thanks...it's inevitable and there's nothing we can do about it. We're just enjoying the calm before the storm while we have it.

SW-User
@indyjoe Yup.. that's all you can do.
CoffeeFirst · 56-60, F
You have to take 700K less the estate taxes and a lot of other stuff... I think any money my parents have will go toward their care.

SW-User
@CoffeeFirst yeah I know that just saying lol
CoffeeFirst · 56-60, F
@SW-User I know, thats a lotta money 😜
Parent-not plural. I guess so as I am an only child. Or I get stuck with the bills.
Celt50 · 51-55, M
Yes I just did this year it wasn't a lot 120,000 euro but there were 6 of us so 20,000 each but so proud of my mum for looking after us all right til the end

SW-User
@Celt50 that's awesome.. and sorry for your loss.. :/
Celt50 · 51-55, M
@SW-User thank you 😊
MarineBob · 56-60, M

SW-User
@MarineBob what about you?
MarineBob · 56-60, M
reasoning is me and my sister have houses

SW-User
@MarineBob 🤔
JimboSaturn · 56-60, M
Same situation. My father in law just died and we have a big insurance policy on him and a house of similar value that will be divided up in two.

SW-User
@JimboSaturn sad...but nice for you 🤗
JimboSaturn · 56-60, M
Actually he was one of the meanest evil person I've ever know. No one is sad he is dead. Sounds harsh, but if you met him, you would completely agree. @SW-User

SW-User
@JimboSaturn oh wow no loss then...yikes!
Tastyfrzz · 61-69, M
I have the farmstead and got some money. When my aunt died I was her executor and got some money there too. She gave a lot away to the university. I also divided up a pile for family members and close friends who had student loans.

SW-User
@Tastyfrzz cool:)
RoxClymer · 41-45, M
I am waiting on an inheritance from my grandfather who died this year, but my mom and dad are at retirement age and still almost live paycheck to paycheck

SW-User
@RoxClymer Yeah sometimes those inheritances take a while..

SW-User
Does it really matter?
Shit usually gets ugly after death. That’s when you see the real people.

JimboSaturn · 56-60, M

cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
They put my sister in charge of the will and I refused it before they died.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@SW-User She attempted to get into my business (snooping around offering to help me with a budget and doing my taxes, also wanting to buy investment rental property and telling me that I would live there) after I got divorced and I put a stop to that too. Thinking she could take advantage of me not being married to exploit me.

SW-User
@cherokeepatti sorry to hear... it's hard when siblings fight. been there, done that. :/
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@SW-User I wasn't fighting, put boundaries around me so she couldn't have any control and believe me all she needs is an opportunity.
Wraithorn · 51-55, M
No, I will get nothing because they have little to nothing. That's fine though because I never expected anything.

SW-User
@Wraithorn small things mean a lot too.. a few mementos.
Starcrossed · 41-45, F
My mom's life insurance paid for the college I never finished. I would have rather had the debt and my mom alive.

SW-User
@Starcrossed Yeah I know.. that's sad.
Degbeme · 70-79, M
I owed them money. :P
Degbeme · 70-79, M
@SW-User I`ll pay them back in my next life. ;)

SW-User
@Degbeme Awww 👍🏻🤗

DearAmbellina2113 · 41-45, F
A small house and property from my mom, probably.

SW-User
@DearAmbellina2113 Aw that's nice.
Tastyfrzz · 61-69, M
Make sure the deed has a transfer on death on file or it goes to probate. Then it goes to shirttail relatives too.

SW-User
@Tastyfrzz yeah and the siblings barely speak to each other so it may get ugly. Who knows.
UpsideOutInsideDown · 41-45, M
I did. Still got most of it thankfully

SW-User
@UpsideOutInsideDown Hi you... your parents are gone already? I'm sorry... but I'm glad they left you something..
Mondayschild · F
I have already received my house and property
Babyfacedblonde · F
Good for you Lils a nest egg for you and hubs

SW-User
@Babyfacedblonde Yeah not that I wish anything to happen to them but it's nice to know.
@SW-User Unless something happens and they need to sell the house.

SW-User

BiggerFriend · 51-55, M
All I got from my dad was a handful of scars and alcoholism. I don't have children. Most of my estate goes to charity.
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
Doubt it.
Groofydorkgerdo · 56-60, M
My half sister will, the rest of us are ass out.
