I think they feel bad or unsure of themselves so they try to make others look worse than they feel about themselves.

My best guess, the reason someone would act like that is because they don't want to focus on themselves. They put all their energy into others, to feel superior and to deny their own flaws.

Well for me I always correct people about OCD cause most of the time they think it is just being a neat freak and not an actual debilitating illness. I have it so I want them to have the correct info and not dumbed down by society.
