Am I the only person on this site who hasn’t blocked anyone?

@Trevo To be honest it is, kind of. This is after all a social forum, yet we all seem obsessed with blocking one another and braying about it like it's some kind of achievement.

@BlueMetalChick i don't think so. I don't like it when people use blocking as a "weapon" and go bragging about it on the QnA section. But let's be honest, some users here are a nuisance. You can only ignore them so much. You don't have to be on good terms with everyone. Why won't you block? Fear of missing out?

@PilinisesiofParadise Not even that, because I almost never block anyone, but I'm certainly not accepting of differing opinions. I'm just confident enough in my own that I don't need to prevent someone from disagreeing with me because I feel like I'm right enough that if they challenge me, they'll fail.

So maybe it just means you're really secure.

I won't block because I feel like it makes me a pussy to shut someone else down. Like, if they wanna argue with me, I wanna argue back, not remove their ability to challenge me.

@PilinisesiofParadise No. Balanced individuals admit to themselves that they don't need to like everyone. Or accept anyone's opinions. Cause some are bad really. I'm not trying to say yore aren't balanced, but not blocking doesn't make you balanced.

That’s your opinion, however, I didn’t say I was better than anyone. I have the tolerance to realise everyone has different likes and dislikes. Some have different opinions and I disagree with somebody on a subject, it’s okay because we are all different and unique in our own way.

How you interpret my words is your problem. There was no malice in what I said nor do I think my shits don’t stink.

@Trevo Being annoying isn't enough for me to want to prevent someone from contacting me. They have to do something worse. Like, just a few weeks ago, I blocked someone because he was stealing my pictures and posting them in his questions claiming I was his girlfriend. Then, he was looking at all my posts, and responding to every other person's comments with "Hey shut up quit talking to my girlfriend, asshole." THAT was worthy of a block.

@BlueMetalChick I think it was worth it. We all have different reasons. Not blocking someone who would such thing in the ban name of never blocking anyone would be kinda strange tbh. Some people are better people when they're out of sight lol

@Trevo I'm a very confrontational person. I divide people I don't like into two categories. The first category is people I don't like for some arbitrary reason, they haven't done anything wrong to me, they've never insulted me or called me names or spread rumors about me. I just dislike them for some reason. I hold myself to the rule that I can't treat those people differently because I dislike them for an unfounded reason. They haven't harmed me, so I can't really act like I have a real reason for not liking them.

The second group is people who I have a real reason to dislike, those that wanna start shit with me or trash talk me. And those people I also don't block because I'm very confrontational, I'm a very combative person, and I actively WANT those people to fight with me so I can prove them wrong.

@BlueMetalChick i like the first paragraph and pretty much agree with it. I think that's how it should be.

As for the second one, it's something specific to you i guess. If it doesn't harm you, that's cool. But chances are that a lot of people block you in the midst of am argument.

I think you have a problem, it was a harmless post but you continuously reply to make it bigger than what it is. I’m actually just a happy go lucky person.

@Trevo It depends on the argument. If it's something substantive, like economics, politics, science, or philosophy, or even something like religion, I've found that the majority of the time people won't block me because they realize they'll look like they've lost the debate.

But I'm an obsessive person, I'll argue about pretty much anything, no matter how serious, or how utterly stupid. And I'll take it seriously, too. If it's a really dumb and pointless disagreement over food, or music, or celebrities, people are much quicker to block.
