How do you make a relationship last?

You compromise. You treat your partner with kindness, and do as many things as you can to try to make them happy. You apologize, even when you think you are right, if you can't work out your differences with calm discussion. If your partner is taking a nutty you go for a drive until they are calm. You remind yourself, always, that love is like a roller coaster. It will have it's high points, and points so low that you will believe your love has died. If you can suck it up and stick it out through the low points, you find that your love did not die. Instead you will find that love has many facets. It is not all about the initial rush of physical attraction. Sometimes it is learning that you would take care of your partner through any illness...or it is learning that if they disappeared from your life it would destroy you. If you find after a time...usually a long one....that you have been doing all of the above, and your partner never did....then you may have the wrong partner.
