Anyone else sick of black lives matter?

This is a group that only cites examples that fit their agenda and talks about them as if they were the norm. Police brutality however affects people of all races not just black. When you say black lives matter you basically are saying their lives matter more than the lives of all other races. All lives matter is about everyone mattering equally. Black people haven't been institutionally discriminated against legally since 1964. Sure there are individual examples however white males and Asians suffer from Affirmative Action. AA policy basically targets white men and Asians in order to let less qualified job candidates or students cut in front of the employment or scholarship line just because they are black, Latino or female. There is also far more black on white interracial crime as opposed to white on black interracial crime. In addition the often cited scenario of black men getting longer sentences in prison for the same crimes as white men are inaccurate. Allot of these black men getting longer sentences is because of their affiliation of gangs. Its more about law enforcement and prosecutors trying to keep organized criminals behind bars and not race. I sympathize with and understand our nations history of race. However it is illogical to distort facts to fit your agenda. And its illogical to think that white people should owe something to black people based on history. In 2016 not a single white person alive ever owned a slave and black people of today never experienced slavery either. Its been over 40 years since the civil rights movement. Yet the way so called civil rights activists talk about race in this country would make you believe we are in 1956 and not 2016. Sorry for the long rant I could go on for probably another hour just thought I would share my opinion on this topic.

While there are bad police officers there are far more good than bad and so I get sick of hearing about how all police officers are terrible and corrupt people, also when there is a badge hiding bad cop police brutality does not discriminate. It's more about the bad cops ego than it is the race of the person.

To answer the question of the title of your story "Anyone else sick of black lives matter?"

Hell yes! I am sick of all racist and that group included.

I am also sick of the race card being used and equally sick of the term "white privilege" White privilege is a myth.

I am also sick of everytime someone brings up a black person being killed by a cop, (And let me add here white people are too, they don't make the news because it does not fit media race war agenda and also some are justified, some are not the last 2 black gentlemen that were killed I will say IMO one was, one wasn't)some racist reject will make a black crime on black crime statement who the hell cares? That is irreverent to what happened at that very moment.

I too sympathize about what happened to the blacks years ago,(as well as the Native Americans) I also sympathize to what happened to the Jews, but no white person alive is to blame for any of that that, and as a country, we need to work together not go along with a race war started and fueled by media and be pulled apart.

There is not a race alive that does not encounter some sort of discrimination or does not come across some sort of racism.

Do the lives of black people matter?

Yes, they do.

So does the lives of white people matter?

Yes, they do.

And so does every other person's life matter, regardless of race, gender or the job they happen to have or not have.

As a wife of an officer who happens to be a black man...and a mother of black boys...BTW I live in the south...the statement is justified. The saying "black lives matter" bothered me at first too. I am biracial. But then I realized how powerful the statement is and we aren't listening...I work with inner city students and there is a lack of self worth within our black community. Young girls and boys alike. This statement for me needs to be aimed towards us....we matter.

There has been 4 black teens killed in our city in the last month (their killers might get 7-10 years....so a black life is only worth that 🤔 yet other murderers get 15-20). And the heartless comments about how our useless race is killing ourselves off is proof of the view point of many. Thats why we need to remind ourselves and others that we aren't what is depicted and we do matter. All lives do matter but being black carries a burden. A burden of trying to prove you aren't the stereotype.

I know its hard to believe that in 2016 race is an issue but it really is. It's hard for someone that hasn't experienced being black to understand. My husband is a grown (giant) man lol is belittled and called "boy" by white men daily (and not in a friendly way). Then again I live in the south....

Not trying stir up anything....black lives matter isn't the anti white agenda that some are making it out to be....its a self awareness.... We need to know our worth

I remind myself daily I am beautiful and not just beautiful for a black woman....which is what I get all the time (have to love southerners.....bless their hearts)

Oh and we don't expect nothing but RESPECT

My rant over

Asian people actually hate that stereotype and do you know why? Positive or negative, people don't like being judged for their race.

Ok. So you don't like the movement and are tired of it. Ok. Now what? I don't think they're moving requires your approval for its survival. You're as free to dislike it and rant about it as they are to keep it going. You probably feel about it like they do about the KKK. They hate it and rant about it but nothing yurt can do about it.

So you don't like it? So what. Do they care? They don't even know who you are.

So now what? You're just sayin, right?

I never said they didn't have a right to protest. Just that I didn't agree with their opinions.

I agree that they're being a bit dramatic, but racism is far from dead.

All you people emanating racism here? You're part of the problem.

They have a right to protest. They do matter..
I don't listen I just agree that they matter. Tho to be clear I don't agree with retaliation against innocent people. On either side.

I just heard of the group yesterday, so it'll be awhile, if ever for getting sick of it.

I think black lives matter is a very interesting ! Group

Many believe races should be kept apart.
Mostly, I hate the comments that reveal who the racists are and what posters really think on these sites. People who only know part of the story weigh in with their little opinions and I have to block folks because I find out what they really thought about ALL black people based upon the actions of some. Don't get me wrong; I appreciate knowing who you are, it's definitely better than not knowing. But please don't come around with "we're all human beings" "I have black FRIENDS" and similar bs when you're no longer angry. You've already told on yourselves now.

Lol. Nihilism at it's finest.

I think that they cause more harm than good sometimes. The real issue is the heavy handedness of some law enforcement officers. It's not just against black people. I've met some great officers. I've also met some bad officers who mistreated me even though I am as white as snow. I don't get a free pass from the bad cops even though I am as white as can be. I would say however that most police officers are decent people who are doing a job. I was saved from serious harm by a police officer once.
