When sending gifts here (if you do) do you send them openly, or privately?

I do not send private ones, usually.

The gift may have a symbolic meaning that is personal, and not meant to be public.

Perhaps someone is thanking someone and doesn't think it needs to be a public spectacle.

Openly.

When you look at your gifts received page it says on the top:

Gifts
Only you can see Private Gifts sent to you.

However I do not believe that means all of the gifts - if any - have in fact been sent privately. It is just a general statement of information I guess.

Personally I am an open person and so I always send all gifts publicly and would not do otherwise.

My suspicion is that either your received gifts have not been sent privately and you have been misled by the above statement or their is a glitch in the system. The former seems more likely to me.

Usually openly ... but some times, if it's a gift given in response to something private or confidential, the gift will be private.

You can send a message with them and you might want that to be private, I mostly do open but I did one private

Openly, unless someone sends me one privately. In that case, I'll send them a return-gift privately.

I often send my own gifts,I find SW's a tad lame...but on seeing your question I sent you some SW chocolate..i felt guilty,guilty,guilty as a Russian novelist might say. But I prefer home grown
