Conrad (Heart of Darkness) is considered to be a master prose stylist of the English language - he was not familiar with the language until his early 20s. How amazing is that?

@rinkydinkydoink Plus at the end of the 19th century...way ahead of his time. I've read it. Fascinating to me. " Gone native". That will never...not be in my lexicon of thought. Perhaps not so much his psychosis certainly but that character... effected me.
