I found a lost dog

On my way home I heard a noise behind some trees and bushes so sort of reluctantly went to look.
To my horror there was a small dog absolutely soaked but scared to come near me.
I had some ham left as never ate all my sandwich at lunch time so he came over to me after a few minutes
Thankfully he had a tag with a name address and phone number so I managed to get him to follow me home ( only 5 minutes) .
We dried him and called the number, we found out some kids had let off bangers and he had got scared and shot off.
Anyway when the people arrived there was a boy aged around 8 in tears as he was scared his dog was lost and the smile on his face and the dogs reaction was so good to see.
His mum offered me money as a reward but I was so pleased that they had him back and said that was the best present I could get.
She came back after 15 minutes with 3 fun bags of sweets that they sell for trick and treating. ( she must of thought I was younger than I was as I had on Winnie the pooh pyjamas as had got pretty wet getting the dog and got changed.
We had a good laugh but I am keeping the mini bags of maltesers as I love them, the rest can go to trick and treaters😄

My dog ran away once because she got out of her harness when the neighbors dog scared her. I was lucky enough someone immediately picked her up and brought her to a vet. I spent five hours looking in the woods crying and hurt myself falling badly. Finally located her through Facebook. Would have loved to give the ppl who took her a gift but no idea who they were. We did send the person on Facebook one

@Morrowind still got tear in my eye god iam 58 why do we get this feeling
Yes, I think he was hiding as had got scared. We dried him off and he had a sniff at our dog once we knew they were okay together.
When his family arrived he got all excited and couldn't stop wagging his tail.
I really dislike loud fireworks as lots of wildlife get scared. I wish they would keep it to one night and get it over with.

Well done for making that little boy's day 🙂 I hate how careless people are with fireworks around pets.

Enjoy your maltesers!
@SunshineGirl Thanks I ate a few bags last night lol. I took some to the others at rehearsal earlier so they never lasted long😀😀

@happygoluckygal A lot of people would have left the dog. Or not cared to look at a rustling sound. You should take the compliment, it was genuine

What a great thing, that it was a kind, caring person who found the scared little dog. 😊

I totally agree with you, regarding fireworks.
Well done indeed. Even better that you turned down the money, although sweets never hurt... ;-)
