Is the Earth flat? Well, science is divided on the matter but think about this...If the Earth were a spinning globe

surely all you would have to do to travel from one place to the other would be to jump into the air. As the Earth is apparently spinning at 1000 miles per hour you would have easily covered about a mile by the time you land again.

Food for thought indeed.

Science is based on perception, and perception is reality. It's not just your perception or my perception but everybody's perception combined into one "collective perception" of the Earth. On your own, you cannot see the Earth you are standing on. The astronaut can see the Earth but it is not the one he is standing on. So, your jumping into the air is based on the assumption that the astronaut's perception of the Earth is the one you are jumping from. Get it?
