Thoughts on shaving my head

I'm looking forward to shaving my head. I think it will be liberating. I am excited to do bold makeup looks with no hair. I'm looking forward to not being too hot. I'm curious about people's reactions.

I almost always wear my hair up in a bun because it gets tangled in everything. Even then it gets in the way a lot. I hate the way my headset at work interferes with it.

And if someone tells me I looked better with hair I'll tell them the USA looked a lot better when I had rights.

this is genius
My spouse has had REALLY long hair for the majority of her years.....

And then about 2 years ago she said "I might want to get my hair cut short." Put in a way that made me believe she was soliciting my opinion (as in ... would I be OK with that)

I encouraged her to GO FOR IT... and even searched the internet for photos of short hair on woman with her facial structure.

After she got her first "SHORT" (very short) haircut. She said "Why didn't I do this before?" and "It is SO EASY to take care of"

Having said that... I will caution you about shaving your head.... as I have "been there/done that" on several occasions.
-Be VERY mindful of the sun.... PALE WHITE skin burns VERY easily (including the tops of your ears, especially the tops of your ears if you have always had long hair). Use loads of good high SPF sunscreen and remember that ballcaps and full-shade hats are your friends.
-Don't be surprised to learn that your skull is "lumpy"..... In my case I was like "Where TF did these divots come from?"

I am bald on top, I went to the barber and they wanted $20 for a hair cut, I don't have $20 worth of hair. I went to the store and bought clippers and I buzz cut my own hair. I either have no hair or maybe am 1/8 of an inch.

Buy some do-rags, if you spend any time outdoors, you will wind up with sun burn if you don't cover up. I tend to get headaches more frequently if not wearing a do-rag or cap for extended time outdoors.

Sinead O'Conner, Demi Moore, Grace Jones, there have been lots of women who opted for the buzz cut or shaved hair, My favorite is Annie Lennox.

The great thing about changing your hair is that it will grow back if you don't like it.

I have to admit that I like the look of women with really short hair, or even a shaved head. It's a bold statement. And not an inappropriate protest to the way things are going.

@DunningKruger my mother always said the difference between a bad and a good haircut is about a fortnight

Since my hairline has receded I've gone to using ole's dog clipper with the number four standoff. I can just lean over the tub and trim it off in a few seconds. Haven't had to use a comb since. I'd stay away from shaving. Too much chance of causing a cyst or ingrown hair. Use a trimmer instead.

i cut mine shorter for 2 reasons , 1 ) sweat around my neck in the summer and 2 ) the wind blowing my hair into my eyes all the time ok 3 ) people thinking i was a Girl from behind

Go for it, just remember to put suncream on the top of your head when out in the sun

Just think, you can get a spit and polish for your bald head 😁
