He was wrong. And he knew it, he owned it, and he apologized for it. That shows integrity.

@FlowersInHerHair What if he’d shot him in the head, then apologised, would that show integrity?
ZashaKitty · 26-30, F
@FlowersInHerHair he didn't apologize to the person he assaulted though and should have been removed from the event and any award he was to win should not have been awarded.. but it was obviously fake and well they got what they wanted out of it
FlowersInHerHair · 51-55, F
@ZashaKitty We don’t know that he didn’t apologize. For all we know he could have invited him over for dinner after the show to make amends.
FlowersInHerHair · 51-55, F
@ididntknow He didn’t shoot him in the head. He slapped him. Big difference and different outcome.
ZashaKitty · 26-30, F
@FlowersInHerHair all assumptions though. If real, Chris Rock should press charges against him for assault
SW-User
@FlowersInHerHair He never apologised at all to Chris Rock, he went on stage and cried like a pathetic person
FlowersInHerHair · 51-55, F
@ZashaKitty Or accept the apology and move on. Maybe own that he knew it was a sensitive subject and he crossed a line. Both sides could have made better decisions. Again, we only know and see what the media wants us to.
FlowersInHerHair · 51-55, F
@SW-User Again, we have know idea what happened when the cameras were not in them. People are playing judge and jury on a five minute clip.
ZashaKitty · 26-30, F
@FlowersInHerHair it was a incredibly tame joke at a event where its well known celebrities get joked upon there. He was assaulted and humiliated in front of the whole world due to it. He will never live that down now.

If you assault someone you should be charged for it
FlowersInHerHair · 51-55, F
@ZashaKitty People are quick to judge without knowing the full story. Something tells me Chris Rock will milk this for all it’s worth and be just fine.
SW-User
@FlowersInHerHair Okay - I did see the assault on TV - should be charged
ZashaKitty · 26-30, F
@FlowersInHerHair odd to me you are defending the person who assaulted another person for really no reason.
FlowersInHerHair · 51-55, F
@SW-User So call and report it and have him arrested for assault. Everyone who wants him arrested should do that. Forget what the person slapped wants to do.
SW-User
@FlowersInHerHair So if that was a female he assaulted that would be acceptable - sorry you are wrong
FlowersInHerHair · 51-55, F
@ZashaKitty I think a smart-mouthed guy pissed a husband off by insulting his wife. He deserved it. That it happened on live tv between two celebrities just shows they are actually human.
FlowersInHerHair · 51-55, F
@SW-User It wasn’t a female though. That isn’t relevant to this discussion.
ZashaKitty · 26-30, F
@FlowersInHerHair he was laughing at it. No he didn't deserve to be assaulted. omg you cant be serious right now lol
SW-User
@FlowersInHerHair So assaulting is acceptable by your standards

@ZashaKitty I’m just sharing my opinion.
I applaud Will for defending his wife; however, he did not have to resort to violence. He could have just yelled like he did, and/or called Chris out in his acceptance speech. Will apologized to the Academy and to his fellow nominees not to Chris and not to the viewing audience. And his comment about 'love makes you do crazy things' sounds abuser-ish.

Chris took it like a champ though.
