Does everyone on here have to speak English or is it filtered by language so that bc you speak English you only see posts in English?

It's an English language site. You are free to post in whatever language you won't it doesn't violate rules, you just have to hope there's enough others who speak your preferred language.

At least 99% of the posts are in English but you can post in any language. I’m sure there are plenty of bilingual people here.

Most of the content is a form of English.

You can post in any language you like but there's not a "translate" option like on Facebook.

@Fluffybull Yes, most people speak English, so I do. If there were more German people here, I might post in German, but no one would understand. 🙈

You do see posts on here in other languages, but as this is a largely American site it is dominated by the American version of English.

PLEASE post in other languages. I am so bored with all the English here, given how international the membership is!

Google Translate can do a decent job most of the time for people who don't happen to know your language.

@SW-User @Fluffybull In my experience that depends on the language.
Anyway, alternatively if people don't understand your post they can always ask you to translate! :)

@ServantOfTheGoddess If one is in a position to be able to translate ones language so others can understand, I don't see the point of posting in ones own language 😆😆 Apart from pretentious elitism, that is.

@Fluffybull I can think of a lot of reasons! Here are five just off the top of my head:

1) It IS your language. Why not be yourself?

2) Most of us express ourselves best in our everyday language. Why not tell us your thoughts expressed as clearly and poetically as you can? SOME people here will need a translation, but some will not.

3) Some other people here also speak your language; you will create a sense of closeness and connection with them.

4) With due respect and without judging anyone, reading post after post in unidiomatic English can get really irritating to native English speakers. I would much rather struggle to understand a post in a language that I know a little bit of, than to grit my teeth at yet another post in mangled English.

5) It would just plain make this site more interesting if it was more multilingual!
