I wonder if it really exists.... In following another's desires, aren't you really just fullfilling your own?
Ximenajacoba · 26-30, F
@Convivial Are we, or are we fulfilling a role
Convivial · 26-30, F
@Ximenajacoba i think that's just semantics ...i think you are doing what you want, fullfulling your own role while also filling someone else's ideas of what your role should be...

Well, years ago a submission was what I sent to a magazine editor when trying to get an illustration assignment.

@ChipmunkErnie Or it could be part of a song title by BLUE OYSTER CULT...[media=https://youtu.be/kpKJUa6IoBs]
It has two meanings, depending on context.
1.
the action of accepting or yielding to a superior force or to the will or authority of another person.
2.
the action of presenting a proposal, application, or other document for consideration, decision or judgement.~
~~~
Submission to another's leadership, level of knowledge or experience, place in the social hierarchy or dominance.
It can be one way that a person or social animal responds to a demand or command.
It can include guessing what the other wants.
Or it can be a symptom of an inability to say no or to stand up for oneself.
Alternative to submission (to something unpleasant) can be:
cutting off,
running away,
avoiding being noticed (hiding, playing dead or sick, or camouflage),
rebellion (civil war, activism, lobbying),
accumulating grudges and resentment until exploding in violence or verbal rage,
unconscious passive aggression.
manipulation,
or deliberate calculated and secretive sabotage.
In my view, neither dominance nor submission is healthy in an intimate relationship -- though I accept that this might be different for couples who are into BDSM.
2. the act of presenting a proposal, application, or other document for consideration or judgement. (eg posting an application for a grant, tendering a budget for a project).
