137 is not overweight for 5’5. It’s barely overweight for my height, 5’2.

@TotalMiss oh thank goodness. My doctor is happy with my weight, I can’t find any charts saying my weight is unhealthy, and I haven’t trusted myself to accurately judge my weight in ages. Phew!

http://www.healthchecksystems.com/heightweightchart.htm according to this if you are medium frame you are right on target. Just remember these charts do not take muscle mass into account.

No way are you overweight at 5'5 and 137 pounds. I'm 5'6 and the "ideal" weight for my height is between 135-145. You might be a pound or two over but that's hardly worth starving yourself for

@RowBoGirl you're doing great! The thing is running makes you fit but what you eat makes you skinny. 137 is totally healthy. Keep mind your exercise will build muscle mass and muscle weighs more than fat. According to the BMI George Clooney is obese.

I read all the responses to this. You need to change your physician if he/she is truly the one to say you are overweight.
You are in the normal range.
Starving yourself will not help you lose fats even if you were overweight. If anything, it can affect your muscles.
Always a healthy diet and exercise is the way to go.
Please see a counselor for your anorexia.

Fasting's not a healthy or reliable way to lose weight, especially for a girl who's still growing. If anything exercise more. Okay, I'm not really an expert on nutrition or losing weight, but intuitively fasting doesn't sound to me like a good way to handle it.
