What should I major in?

I have been choosing biomedical engineering but a lot of people who major in it, say it isn't great. I am looking to make some good money, enough to start my own animal rescue when I get to own my own home. I want to be able to help people as well. I chose biomedical engineering because its interesting and also helps make prosthetics and other medical aid products. Is there something similar? Is there another career where I could work in science or just help people in general or even rescue? I know I dont want to be a doctor or dentist or lawyer or anything that requires extra school. I want to earn my degree because it would get me one step above. I am just unsure since the degree is getting difficult to complete and I have felt like its my only choice for the longest. Any ideas or recommendations? I know what I want to do in life I just dont know how to get there.

Biomedical engineering sounds great, but just how many openings in corporations for that type of work are there? Seems to me that would be a very limited field. Veterinary Science and/or Animal Husbandry might be a better choice for you and you could also combine your knowledge of biomedical engineering with it.
Of course, if you want to help people and also make a lot of money, you could always go into politics. Politicians always seem to do very well financially.

If you never try, you will never know if you can get the degree.

Biomedical engineering is quite difficult and you would need at least a master's to get a decent job.

Don't listen to people. Outside of a few major careers that you already named as ones you don't want you usually don't start of making big bucks.
Your career trajectory depends on you. Biomedical is a great career
